It actually was a naval fighter, then became a bomber, then a became high alt fighter.

The last time I was at the Garber Facility (several years ago) they had just started the restoration work on the last known BV155 if I remember correctly. The wings were dismounted, but I didn't remember seeing those bulges in them.
