It's just the expected story of introducing another Uber plane into the Main

Squadie Makarov dispatched a 262 yesterday flying the "New" Uber plane in the main....

Yep, I had some alt so I dove ahead of him. He shot by then climbed into a loop...silly boy. I had enough speed to close to within 700 and filled him with .50's. Got 8.75 perkies.

FM2 is a great lil' plane. I fear nothing in it except Zero's. I relish going in after a Niki.

Its an amazing little plane.

Last night I flew it for the first time, loaded down with x2 100lb bombs and rockets on a base attack mission.

About half way there, I got attacked by a La7 that had 4k alt on me. I started turning and burning with him, forgetting that I was loaded down. I dodged something like 3 seperate gun passes, and he had to bug out when I started to gain angles on him. All the while keeping my ord. Which I then proceeded to wreck his base with

The little FM-2 is probably one of the most under-appreciated airplanes in the MA. Its got a wonderful little ground-support capability with those rockets, and hanging twin drop tanks gives it a range and flight endurance to get wherever it needs to go (even though it'll take its own sweet time to get there). It has the meritorious distinction of being the only plane I haven't nosed into the ground during a ground strike, mostly because its so slow that I can catch my errors before they become tragic.

And its just so darn cute, how could you not laugh while engaging one in combat? Its like a Disney cartoon of the little plane that could.

This thread was not started as some kind of new uberplane statement. More to announce the demise of an uberplane designation.

The N1K2 has an opponent that can simply demolish it.

Well, I am 6-0 in the FM2 against the N1K2, but I think "demolish" might be a bit strong.

The only chance an N1K2 has against an FM2 is in a HO.. other than that its toast. I think demolish is apropriate in this context;)

I flew the plane a few sorties and engaged several different aircraft. I was simply amazed that N1K2s did not stand a chance. I noticed this above virtually everything else those sorties.
