Win2000 networking
« on: July 23, 2002, 01:41:53 PM »
Any Win2000 gurus out there? I have 3 PC's in close proximity, a house general one, My AH one and my old University one.  My 2 both run Win2000 and the house on runs Win98 SE.  I'm after a cheap and cheerful link, not particulalry bothered about speed so I planned on linking em all with a bit of RG58 coax and not bothering with hubs.

So. Here it gets complicated.  I can access the win98 machine from my old machine running Win2000 but I can't get at the Win2000 machine from my Win98 machine and my brand new sparkly AH machine flatly refuses to even install the network card even though I can succefully install the same card in both the other machines.

I'm compitent at messing around with win98 but Win2000 is just that little bit more complicated and when I started poking I thought it best to ask first rather than screw everything up (again), all help apprecited.

I'm getting a headache. Think I'll go have a lie down

BTW this is what win2000 says when I try to install the network card on my new win2000 machine.
