LOL! Although the Bigweek server is on the "other side of the pond" (my side!), the majority of users are on the US side, same as here. An alternative address is news.kraits.org, as it is run by Trip, a member of the Krait Squadron.
Just point a newsreader at news.bigweek.org or news.kraits.org and come and join the party...
Although the majority of Bigweekers started out in 'that other flight sim', many have not flown for some time, but still continue to subscribe to Bigweek to keep in touch.
The conversations aren't restricted to flight sims either - just about any topic of conversation you can imagine has been discussed at some point, and some keep popping up time and time again. In short, if you want to know anything about just about anything, just ask in Bigweek - you are bound to get at least one reply giving an answer (though you may have to dig deep amongst the off-topic 'replies' to find it! <g> ).
Bigweek is its own unique community, which will live on through whatever flight sims are 'in' at the time.... just one thing - it's completely unmoderated, so not suitable for anyone who is easily offended!
Last, but not least - it's NNTP!
