hazed-

I Flown with Lazs now for about 4 years, I cant tell you without a doubt that i have never seen him with bombs under the wings. Matter of fact I cant remember the last time I saw him not in a corsair. I think perhaps when the BK's were back in WBs, but i cannot be sure.

We BK's love a furball say 10 on 10 between 2 bases, hell we like when it is 4 on 20 (us being the 4) and we usually get 4 to 5 kills each before we "land" back at base. Hell its fun clearing lazs' 6,everyone going after him and all   but we cant even do that because the buffer doesnt announce he is there. My kills per sortie have plummeted.

narsus... sure, you recall... I allways fly a middle of the road plane.  I flew p40's, f4f's spit ones in the early RPS of WB  and hellcats toward the end.   Very rarely flew what passed for a Hog in WB.  In AH there are 3 choices.... You can fly a completely outclassed early war plane and limit yourself to certain situations only or dying a great deal or.... You can fly an uber late war plane like a lag or P51 or D9 and earn the contempt of your fellow players and feel a little sleazy (if you have a consience)  or..... you can fly a mediocre plane and take equal amounts of good and bad.   I have chosen the latter.   Irt works for me.  plus... I can take off from carriers.

oh... and the new kill buffer messages do kinda ruin the fun a bit... My job as designated dragger is hindered greatly by it.   Stupid concession to the "patience over skill" crowd.

Look guys... the situation that is illustrated is the result of wussy "missun" guys not furballers.    No way to blame gangbanging on furballers.    It is infinetly more fun for me to mix it up in the ever changing dynamics and infinite variation that is...... fuuuuurbaaaall..... than it is to attack Ai or hide in a group of gangbangers.

but... to each his own.  and...... oh, I am not in the least interested in what anyone thinks of my delivery or even if they admit to agree with me.

Remember the good old days.. everybody paid 30 bucks, and the place wasn't populated by 12 year old 15 day wonders bored with real world while on summer vaction?
====
I would pay 30 bucks like YESTERDAY to have the old AH back.

I struggled for months after the great masses of AW wanderers came in from the desert and changed AH (both for better and some for worse).  But let me say I have seen the shrub on fire and become gray of hair and have found inner peace.

I enjoy AH again...but it aint always easy.

I'm not a fan of furballs either, BUT with the exception of last night when the knights were on the ropes I had no toubles finding places less crowded.

In the smaller maps you can go to an undefended enemy base and people will come up after you, in pizza they were too focused on a tiny area of the map to even know anyone was at that base..

Need to have faith not to fly an "ubber speed plane" or a "Ubber turnfighter" to survive.

But looks like it's what people feel good about.

I'm not one for scoring or getting perks but I do like your idea.  Go figure, it would be Frenchy that would come up with a good idea.  Someone better call the Weather Channel and see if Hell froze over ;)

Ahh thanks lazs for the correction, thinking about it now I remember a few of those early war sorties. And yes the F4U in WB was terrible.

No points for houses unless you're in "attack" mode or flying a bomber.  Chances are, guys in Spitfires, N1K2s, and LA-7s aren't in "attack" mode.  For the most part, Spits, N1k2s, and LA-7s are the types of planes caught up in a furball.  Vulching racks up quick and easy kills - and points.  Bad, good, or indifferent, vulching gets the perk rewards.

I fly the F4U-1 and P-51B for my fighter sweeps, the F4U-D and P-51D for the ground attacks.  As far as furballing goes, I'm usually on the periphery calling the plays or busting up ack and buildings.

If that happened, then everyone would fly the uber speed planes just so they'd know they'd be able to disengage when things went south (typically, right after the first head-on merge).
