Separate arena (i.e. taking over the CT) means it doesn't affect the MA crowd one bit. You like to furball, you still got the MA. You like to do the strat how YOU want with what YOU want, then you still got the MA. If you like to participate in Snapshots, TODs, and Scenarios, then in 1.11 you'll have an arena that is almost exactly like that with missions kicking off every hour. To me it's having automated Snapshots every hour based in one theater of operations.
Personally, this is something I might fly in once in awhile if I wasn't getting my fix from Friday night TODs. I like to furball mostly (either MA style or CT style with fixed planesets, I enjoy both) and this new concept isn't for that. However, I think a good number of people will enjoy it, much like the CT gets used when there's a popular planeset for the week (BoB, Med, or Pacific stuff)
It's too bad we don't have a full early planeset. I'd have loved to see them start off this new concept with the Battle of Britain or some island hopping in the Pacific.
