Steve Howe, Alex Lifeson, Trevor Rabin, Rick Nielson, whole bunch of others that play from the heart first.

Satriani makes a dry martini look wet. The guy is a technical wiz maxed out on crack but I cant stand to listen to his stuff. I feel like Im listening to a computer program gone "Dave, I wouldnt do that if I were you.....Hal STFU!"

All in all though...no big deal.

Joe Satriani? bought one of his records - waste of money.

Steve Vai? have nearly all his records. "Passion and Warfare" is his Masterpiece.
Just listen to it with earphones on and u'll discover all that funky stuff
going on in the background

David Gilmore? don't know the guy... unless you're reffering to David Gilmour
from Pink Floyd...

The great thing about him is that he creates Melodies that fit the song perfectly,
and are unique to that song - your average Guitar jock will just play the scales
he practiced over any song...

Alex Lifeson? Well, Rush is one of my fav bands, but the guy that really keeps
it all together is Neil Peart, the Drummer, nobody can sound bad
with a drummer like that...

Well Monk I usually try to hold out as long as I can. But one can only stand so much of...."Eddie Van Halen is the best f*%cking guitar player that ever lived man!!!...that guy rocked!!!"

Sooner or later someone has to put a stop to them and suggest that they listen to all the guys that know how to play the chords with the numbers in them

Jeff Martin - The Tea Party

Guitar, Esraj, Gibson Harp Guitar, Hurdy Gurdy, Santur, Sarod, Saz, Sitar, Tambura, Tar, Ud...anything with strings he plays and plays well. They don't come much more talented than him.

ALot of Jimmy Page's SOLOS are not too memorable, but the development of his songwriting, along with the rest of the guys contributions to zeppelin songs, Plant, Bonham, and JPJ really made LEd Zep what it was. Easy pleasy Lemon Squeasy, is almost always the best route to music. You guys have heard Stravinsky's Rites of Spring. There are some incredibly simple sections in this piece that move in ways no other music can. Now I'm not comparing LZep to classical music, but sometimes less is more. I could play all of Zeps songs in Hschool, as well as Metallicas and all that other stuff, but I guess the way they played thse songs could not be duplicated by me or the other guys I played with.

After having a nostalgic evening by listening my very old c-casettes(!), I found it! It was LOUDNESS and the guitarist was Akira Takasaki.

Not even close to eddie, jimi or other legends, but still very good guitarist.
