In the limited amount of playing I have had on the Bishops team, there is one thing that stands out and most pilots have noted this as well.
We (Bishops) do not appear to coordicate ourselves very well.
In a bit of frustration on Saturday, I assumed high command position for A5, while trigger was working A1.
Bot fields were being hit hard. I sat at A5 in a M16 (not being a very good pilot) and acted as spotter, calling out for support when needed and forwarding support back to A1 whcn needed.
trigger was doing pretty much the same at A1.
All in all, the Bishops did an outstanding job holding those fields under immense attacks.
Dolfo tries really hard to coordinate attacks, but we (bishops) seem to lack the coordination of the nits and rooks.
Personally, I find getting hit by the nits and rooks a challenge and very enjoyable. I have always liked being the one that has to claw and fight for every bit of turf. Just seems to be more gratifying when we do win a field or defend one successfully.
During times with A5 was quiet, I would grab a buff and hit a not or rook field. Strictly a diversion tactic, as I noticed a flurry of planes would be up and after me pretty quickly, which meant other bish fields were getting ignored. I would get shot down, go back to A5 and wait a few more minutes, and do it again.
All in all, as just an observation, we bishops need to spend a bit more time planning attacks rather than just hitting targets in a rather random fashion and communication is our most important tool.
I may not be a good pilot, but I am one heck of a chess player.
All in all, I like the 3 country scenario. We need more folks who are willing to sit at a field and babysit it.
My 2 cents worth.
