Eskimo, my assumption has been that most CTDs and screen freezes have been server problems. I know that's counter-intuitive, but windows network code is so poor, malformed packets are liable to hose your client.
My proof is pretty simple. Think back to other versions. They ALWAYS start off with lots of CTDs & screen freezes. Hitech releases a few client updates and the CTDs & screen freezes continue. Later, as a few weeks roll by, the CTDs and screen freezes miracously disappear.
The CTDs and screen freezes go away w/o HTC updating the client code. In other words, Hitech has fixed a server problem.
In this case, there's an extra twist! Hitech has inserted additional code to prevent the invisible plane bug.
Hang tight Eskimo, it'll clear up soon.
BTW, miracle of miracles, I've had ZERO CTDs and screen freezes over the last two days.
