Aiming in a Torpedobomber ?
« on: August 07, 2002, 09:29:00 AM »
How should I aim my Torpedoes for maximum hit propability and survivability ?

How should I approach a Carrier Group ? Frontally, offset to the side, directly from the side ?

At what range should I fire the torpedoes ? I heard "just when the ack begins firing at you"...

How much do I have to lead the target ?

As of now, I'll go in below 200ft at less than 200mph, and drop torps in an easy turn (as to create a "Fächerschuss"). I use the JU-88. I think I NEVER hit a target, though I tried often enough

BTW, I could use some Henschel 129 Hagelkorn guided anti-shipping missiles... now that would rock ;)

attack from the front..  say anywhere from 11-1 oclock, torps are not easy.

Practice offline against your own cv's, just turn Protect Objects off this way u don't have to worry about ack.

basically its about practice..

I drop as ack lights up at me, and usually aim at the cruiser if i want to hit the CV.. tho i don't hit very often +)
