Who do you respect in the CT?
« on: July 29, 2002, 08:28:22 PM »
Name the guys that you are pleased to see when you log into the CT. :)

The guys who "salute" when you shoot them down, the ones willing to take troops, the ones who always check your 6, the ones who will come to help, the ones who don't whine and switch sides when the numbers are against them, the ones who are out to have fun and hope you do too. ;)

You know who I am talking about. :) I can name all the guys in my squad, but I will keep them off my list.

I think of, (in no particular order)…

Eskimo
Furzy
Oldman
Fork
Duke
Keyapaha
Sehob
Sabre
Corwin
Wotan
Propnut
Hazed

There is more I know, but these come to mind at the moment and I am sure there are some fellows who are on when I am not. :)

to all of you who make the CT enjoyable for me!

To answer your question, pretty much all of the regulars, and a lot of folks who show up just now and then.

Theres lots of great guys in the CT.

The things I appreciate most from other players:

Anyone who enjoys a good fight and can express that whether they win or loose.

The guys who fly every setup and find fun even when they dont like to current matchups.

Also the CT CMs who do what they can to make the ct fun.

The guys who choose to work together even though they have very little incentative to.

With the coming mission theater it may mean an end to the "Combat Theater" ans despite its limited appeal there were so really good times in there.

I havent had even a tinge of disrespect for anyone Ive met in the CT.  I guess in the absence of disrespect you can have only one thing, respect!

To you guys.

guess no one will respect me then.  :p  I only salute the solidly good, memorable fights.   I feel like I'm belittling someone if I toss out a after me and 3 squaddies ganged him low and slow.  Good fight?  hell no, he had no chance if we don't screw up.  Had he got me (or a squaddie), then he gets a because he put on a "damn good show!"

Second,  I'm here to have fun.  If I don't like a setup or matchup, I'm not going to waste my time or yours flying it.  If am not having fun, I'm logging off, regardless of the reason why I'm not having a good time.

If this causes people to "not respect me,"  oh well, I'm here to have fun, not earn your "respect."

That mirrors my own experience.  Perhaps it's because the truly unpleasant people, for one reason or another, don't want to come to the CT, or maybe it's some weird transformation process, but we don't really get many turkeys there.

I havent run into any regulars I don't respect in CT. I have a few dissagreements, with guys over one issue or another, and usually on this board and not in the arena.
To me the best thing about CT is the people that fly there. It doesn't take long for a hothead from MA to come in full of chnl 1 B.S. to make me glad I stay in CT.
To be honest  there is very few in MA I don't respect, I just don't enjoy the arena, but tha majority of guys in there are as good as gold, they just find their sim enjoyment in a differnt fashion.

Like just about everybody else, I haven't run into many pilots in CT that weren't friendly, talented & just generally happy to fly & fight.

There was one guy.. hehe

He popped in while I was scouting out a new terrain & immediately announced that he was there "TO KICK AZZ!!". He then ground-looped several take-offs. I helped him out a bit, gave him a few pointers & suggested we dogfight for a little while.

I was then treated to a description of all the things he was going to do to me, my mom, my dog, my neighbor, etc...

So I shot his wing off.

He then left. But not before announcing on ch. 1, several times, that I was "A studmuffin!!!"

Come to think of it, I enjoyed that quite a bit too :)

The CT group is a really great bunch.  I truly enjoy the time I get to spend in there (since the twins came along) and really respect the skill, camaraderie and good natured group that can  be found there.

It occurs to me I have never even squelched in the CT!

all!

Yeah, it is a whole different world in the CT.  Day before yesterday some poor fellow went off on a rant about how bad the FM was because the Hurri could, "Drop flaps and flat turn at 50mph for four minutes!" and how I and another Hurri driver were "gaming the game."  This was how he felt we were able to out turn and burn the 109 down at the wavetops.

In the MA he would have drawn nothing but ire.  In the CT the folks attempted to help him out to tell him how to use his 109 to bring down a Hurri.  Sadly he was never able to accept that it was his preconceptions about the 109 vs. the Hurri that were in error and with a final "Have fun gamin" augered, logged and wasn't seen again.

As always, to the CT one and all.

CT is the only place for me and the Hellcats, and we respect all who fly there, dont always have the super planes and usually it is pretty equal, and 99% who fly there show respect for one another. Once in awhile there is a little misunderstanding between a couple of guys or squads but never turns into anything viscous and is usually forgotten quickly, if you want good clean flying and guys that dont offer a thousand excused why you shot them down, fly the ct!
