Anybody have any good stats on the J2M Raiden (Mitsu you out there :) )?
I'm interested to see how it matches up with the F4U, F6F, P-51D and P-47N.

Thanks

Hi Pei,
Here's a couple of links... Not comparisions but plenty of performance details.

Nice downloadable 3 views here.. (OK not stats but nice all the same).

Good info here as well.

Depending on altitude, it would do fairly well against the F4F, P-40, P-39, F6F, and the P-38.  However it would still have quite a difficult time against the much faster P-51, F4U, and P-47's.

Wow!   400+ mph and 4500+ fpm climbrate!   That's better than any stats I have seen elsewhere for this a/c, which usually are around 380 mph max speed and 3800 fpm climb.   Either way, with its performance and 4x20mm armament (J2M3a), the Japanese would have one nasty interceptor in their stable.

This beauty also has combat flaps to enhance low speed handling.
What is not to like about this baby?

I believe production numbers were right around 500, significantly  more than the F4U-1C or the Ta152.
