Anybody here ever use to play it? And is there anything similar out there now in a large multi player enviroment?

Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

Battletech wasn't there a role-playing game of this (played it a few years back)? If it is the game I am thinking of I would say get a hold of mechwarrior 4 or maybe tribes.

EA released the updated online version right about the same time they were killing AW. They made a good online game great and then killed it when the numbers didnt look "everquest like" or so I have been told.

I still have my pld Gamestorm CD with golf, Battletech, AW1 (I think) Batdog, if you want the CD I'll burn you a copy.
