All I can think to say about this is, Problem solved. There will be no recidivism on this hemorhoids part.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

I am glad that guy was shot in the head.  Hes probably in hell right now.

On a side note, I found it very disturbing that the girls were out at 2am in a secluded area.  Even if they were with their boyfriends, some caution needs to be exercised.  I certainly do not drive through the seedy parts of Louisville Kentucky past dark.

"We don't have to worry about him being rehabilitated. We don't have to worry about the Supreme Court. He is deceased."
-Kern County Sheriff Carl Sparks

"They say you shouldn't say nothing about the dead unless it's good. He's dead. Good."
-Moms Mably

I hope the two girls that were raped make a full recovery both emotionally and physically. I hope the two deputies who shot the animal suffer no remorse or ill effects and realize they did their job. I hope Roy Ratliff burns in Hell through all eternity.

This guy should have never been on the street.  If states are going to have a ‘3-strikes and you’re out’ law bail should be denied when you are charged with your 3rd offence.  Why the hell would they let a known sex offender with nothing to lose (he was facing charges that would put him away for life) loose in the world for 1 last big hunt.  to me the end result seemed highly predictable (the crime not the very good police work).

It's not a seedy area. It is a well known overlook and parking spot. It overlooks the airport. The surprise was how few people were there.

One of the local stations actually found out that one of the girls was not with her boyfriend! They interviewed the boyfriend and the reporter had the nerve to ask why she was up there with someone else.  This 17 yr old kid had the presence of mind to say " That isn't important right now (they hadn't found the girls yet) and I can't believe you would ask me that question!" I think that boy should get a freakin medal for having a clear mind at his young age.

apathy, he hadn't been captured yet for the previous Kern County rape according to what I've read. He was facing a 3-strikes sentance whenever they would have caught him when he did this.

What saved these girls was the Amber Alert system we have in place in California. Except for the rape part I'm sure most of us can accept the result of this monster's activities.

I know Capt. Apathy.  The main problem is that most parole boards will let these guys out, EVEN THOUGH, sex offenders will tell anyone, "I cannot stop!".

Think of the tax dollars saved.  No trial, no incarceration, no decade-long appeal process.

I read in another article that the two officers that approached the vehicle didn't know that the girls were inside when the suspect fired and they returned fire (you can see the blacked-out windows).  Thank Cod none of the rounds hit the girls.

I don't think they bail 3-strikes offenders pending trial, but I'm not 100% sure. Also I guess he WAS a parolee. It's amazing we allow sex offenders three opportunities to ruin peoples' lives before we lock them up and throw away the key, huh? I don't know but it seems to me that sex offenders can't be rehabilitated so why do we apply the same standards with a sex offender that we do with a burgular? One strike is enough for some of these monsters, IMO.

Day by day are basic freedoms are eroded. Now it’s almost impossible for a guy to get a decent piece of ass.

I think what blur is saying is that there isn't a safe decent place to park anymore.
