I dont really care to know who is flying what.  I want to know who is killing who. And whats going on in the arena. I feel like they are increasingly trying to disassociate players from the experience of playing with other people.  My disinterest in box sims comes from this feeling that none of it matters. No body knows what happened, except you and the computer.  And it dont care.

If I read. Hblair has shot down fester, and laz.  Thats an interesting bit of info.  Reading hblair has gotten 2 kills means nothing.  He has done it before, and he will do it again. It might as well say. Hblaire got some kills.

Im sure it's an attempt to make you land your kills otherwise no glory like in real life.   I too would rather see the buffer loaded with kills.

WB's buffer is the ticket. You know who killed who and that's as it should be.

Makes it more fun....personal :)

Yeah, I got quite a few kills tonight.... but didn't land any of them.... not necessarily by dying either but usually CTD or lost connection...  :(

I dont mind the land the kills thing.  Keeps the buffer from clogging if nothing else. However, I would much rather get a list of who he killed, then what kind of plane he was in.

The only exception would be for the ostwind driver that parked himself at the spawn point of a runway and got 50+ kills.

I do agree, more info would make the game a lot more interesting.  Maybe another message fashioned after baseball:

SYSTEM: SoEnSO died with 2 on

:)

I would like messages for attempted kill steals:

(insert name) has put (x) amount of (20mm, 13mm, ect...) into a b17 that was missing (wing, tail, elevators) to make sure that he was going to die, even though he was going stright into the ground at xxxMph.

I would have a problem with osty kills....

Just make GV kills, kills landed :D Plane kills, killed by who as in WB.

Something stupid that I really enjoyed also were medals. ( no longer being done )

I can show you the day I reached a mark. Can describe the last sortie, it's burned in. It's still there !!! in an arena with 2 people in it now :)

Medals for milestones are fun. Keeping track of streaks are fun, kill buffer messages are fun.

They add to the whole thing for me. Without them the game is fun, but "alittle" less. But that's me. Kinda cool, look at the date and I remember it all. Came close 3 or 4 times and something would happen around 18 or 19. Kept new furniture being delivered to the house ;)

It would in my view be a good addition.

I like the way in which HiTech has lowered the traffic on channel 1, and having to also land kills probably serves to steer people away from blatant suicide tactics which tended to annoy some people as well.

But part of being a multiplayer game is the interaction of personalities. A good compromise would be to keep the text buffer as is, but add a recent kill list to players' score cards, so to use the first example, if Hblair shoots down Fester, and then Lazs, their names would appear as his 2 most recent victories on his scorecard.
