It's finished, and it flies great

Fairchild M-62 as flown at Wright Field, Sept 1939. Done outta the DynaFlite PT-19 kit.. 90" wing, 19 lbs. Zenoah G38 for power, B&B smoker, 6 servos.

Got 5 shakedown sorties on it so far.. two dead stick landings; one damn near fatal 'awshit' and 2 sweet 3 pointers. Got all the bugs worked out (i hope like hell i do, anyway) now and it's time to start pushin the envelope.

Takin it to Floyd Bennet Field tomorrow for a warbirds meet to really start wringin it out.. any bets on weather or not I bring it back in one piece? ;)

Man, you sure do nice work. I really like that one. Looks like a super flyer, too.

I fail to see any cat-straps in that cockpit

Oh, this is just a test ride, right? :D

Skuz, it's flyin on a Fatoooooba Super 7, but a standard 5 channel box could fly it. It grooves really well, but feels 'heavy'. Not too surprising... this is also the first bird I've built with wingloads over 25 oz to the foot. Chop the thottle, it plummets fer the pavement with aclarity. :D

Fuzz and the Goof both distrust it hugely... for an entire evening, every time they got close to it to investigate I'd snatch up the Tx box and start jostling the controls wildly. They think it's possessed. Muahahhahha!

Hangtime are you one of the old geezers who flies cubs and sits on the bench all day complaining about the 3D pilots?

Very well modeled then, I'd say.

Looks very nice Hang. Come to Nebraska, I'll get you a ride in a real one.  :)
