I think I'm going to retire from trolling...

I managed to get some very interesting hits in the past few hours.

Sorry, Miko, I was aiming at Sandman lol.
So, I'm a rabid fundamentalist. Ok, that's cool, but on the other hand...

So I'm both a rabid fundamentalist, AND a leftist whacko (or at the very least a sympathiser). All within a few hours time!

What attracted me to trolling low these six months ago was how people could post the most obvious trolls, and yet people would still strike on them. "Perk the La7" for example. You can even come out and say "THIS IS A TROLL" and people will still foam at the mouth while typing the best ad hominim you have ever read. When Elfenwolfe showed up on the scene it was just too much. Here was a guy who was OBVIOUSLY trolling. And people would fall overthemselves trying to be the first to call him names.    It's amazing how twitchy the knee jerk faction is.

Anyhow, if anyone incurred undue stress as the result of reading one of my trolls (and there haven't been that many) I apologize. But I also suggest that in the future you at least read the whole thread before launching into your assault :)

And if anyone is actually interested in where I stand on a few issues, my personal webpage has some information. Some of you might find it insteresting.

You know what Sikboy the sad thing is I have heard arguments like the one you posted and that pissed me of in more than once in real life, at my school, and all over the internet.  The site you got that article from is full of it. And there are others like http://www.counterpunch.org and yet others.

So basically I had enough of this BS and I just lash out at anything that even seems like it...

You're right Grunherz, people do make these arguments. And I didn't think that my troll was going to float, beacuse people came right out and pointed out the flaws in the argument. The biggest one being that it has no documentation to back up any of its claims. And since Wishing doesn't make it so,  the argument is only valid to those who are already convinced (so it's not really an argument, just an affirmation I guess).  And thats the real point here: If something is so poorly argued, it is far better to point out the flaws than it is to simply go after the originator.

As to why PCT's (Paranoid Conspiracy Theorists) subscribe to such arguments... Some people would say that they want to belong. And in uncovering the "Truth" they can feel that they are part of a special elite group that "gets it" Try reading some Chomsky (ok, this is going to sound like a troll but it's not lol) Chomsky loves to tell you a story, then tell you that you have to be very intelligent to understand what he's saying. So the reverse is implied; if you don't understand/agree, you're a freakin tard.  The Government has done some pretty crappy things for a variety of reasons. Add a steady diet of Chomsky and LaRouche and the anti-government conspiracy section of the mind becomes very fertile.

No problem, Sickboy.
I am not much fond of trolling - I was able to get into argument with probably every single one here on one issue or another with my genuine views - but if you care to do it, why not.
I am not even sure your statement about murderers qualifies as a straight troll. Just taking someone else's view and posting it as yours - and that one was exactly what many rabid fundamentalists say - is not a high art of troll.

A troll post is supposed to contain within itself a clear indication that it is a troll - but it should be masked in such way by an inflamatory part so that a victim got all worked up half-way and skipped the clue.
Come to think of it, I am not tempted to troll becasue I would not be good at that - I do sometimes openly act as a devil's advocate though.

And I chuckle pretty much every time you post. But that's a different story all together. And it is a "big deal" when it's something perposterous being taken at face Value. Also, its the sheer twitchiness of the reflex that really cracks me up.

There is not such thing as "preposterous" anymore. Anything goes. What used to be laughable/outrageous/preposterous yesterday is a main-stream today.

Sure thing sickboy.  But then... just how does one gauge "prepostrous"?  I guess by your scale exclusively?

Trollings nothing new.  Its seldomely creative and its seldomely witty.  Yet every time someone does it... they think themselves quite the genius.

You're no Andy Kaufman.

Obviously it is a subjective call. But, for example, when you discuss the fact that it is indeed a troll, and yet that doesn't slow someone down. Well, draw your own conclusions. Those who are quick will pick it up, those who aren't... get laughed at. I never considered myself a genious (and compared to you, who could?)

-Sikboy

Oh, and Kaufman wasn't a genius, he was a hack... oh wait, that's another subjective call

I never considered myself a genius either... escpecially when I had to look up the spelling of the word.

I think Kaufman was a hack too.  But he was one of the first to do it and he was quite good at it.  He's one of the first classic troll personas I've ever seen.  There are people still arguing over some of the crap he said/did 30 years ago.
