Ok I take that back I was VERY negitive in post about leaving. So......I'M SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There, happy. No really I am sorry, but keep in mind I posted it while I was REALLY pissed. But now that I look at it, it was really negitive. Ok I'll tell you why I left Bish. The Bish for some odd reason, love to employ stupid taticts. I'll give an example: Yesterday, I came on at about 9:30 AM, we had almost all of out bases, but the rooks were starting to invade. I thought if we took A13, we might could cut the rooks off. So we begin an attack with a few planes that I could get to come with me. I bombed the ack, but the C47 crashed inroute to the base, so we lost our chance to take it. About the the same time, the rooks caped A2. We now had to try and retake A2. But however, several Bish had managed to take A32, a Knits base. Everyone went down there to start bombing the Knits, while they left our homeland undefended. Out of the 25 Bish that were on, 20 were at 32, and the other 5 were trying very hard to defend the homeland from the rook invasion. Well needless to say, the rooks caped A3, A4, V40, V41, A10, A37, and V42 all within a matter of about 45 mins. I kept whining that we needed help up here in the homeland, but as usual nobody listened to me, and they kept trying to defend A32. About the same time the Knits took A5 and A9, after this I said screw it. I've had enough of this crap. All you guys want to do is defend a worthless field, while a few of us try to defend our homland. So I left. This little drama that unfolded yesterday is what finaly pushed me over the edge. This is why Bish always lose. Not beacuse of the gangbanging, it because they keep employing stupid taticts that end up getting them killed. Anyway, I'll stop there, before I turn this into a book.

Beefster,

I haven't had a chance to read your first post yet, but I've seen these threads many times before.

The thing is, in an open arena like AH, anything goes. Chaos is the norm, and it is very difficult to get cooperation from others . I'm not making any judgements on that, but just stating a fact. And since there is no rank per se in each country, you get a range of ideas about tactics.

The best way I've found to get other people to work with me, is to get to know your fellow countrymen, and establish a rapport with them.

Hehe, looks like you've also learned another thing about BB's---don't post when you're upset.

Take care, my friend. Let's all continue to have fun together.

I was in the goony enroute that discoed (but only just outta 5)...  I had to fly from 5 (I think) cos A1 was swarming though you did suggest flying from A1?!  Nothing was bombed at 2 at the time cos you said so.  When I did get to 2 I parked up behind a hill whilst you bombed the last couple of ack.  The Vehicle hangar was still up and a few low cons there too and eventually the fighter hangars came back up (think the bomber hangar was still up anyways).

So, either not enough fighters or bombers were present... (there would have been M16s still on the ground even if the V hang was bombed)  I was trying to get through on the country channel to find out situation but you and LordHaHa (I think?) were arguing on the channel for ages.

Oh well... put it all down to experience... we all lack coordination at times but if we all try and ask politely things might happen.  You asked for a goony and I tried to help...

All countries are peopled with pretty much the same people, alas.  Moving around will help you to get to know them, and that in itself is a strong argument for swapping sides.
My best advice is: A. like banana said, get to know the folks, and work on establishing a reputation.  If someone knows that they'll probably survive and get a field capture if they bus for you, they're more likely to do it.
B. Use the herd mentality to your strategic advantage.  Study the crowd, think of how frustrating it can be when they all respond in the most idiotic fashion to external stimuli.  Now, can you make your enemy do that?

Remember, it's a given that your country is full of idiot furballers, but if you can make the other guy pay more for his idiocy, you've won.

(oh, and while your at it, now you can get really upset at GTR for capping fields).

Salute

I captured field 32

I am pretty new here and its really not easy to learn all the rules and tactics and slang hehe...

I agree that sometimes its a bit chaotic but i like that also.

Maybe somone could make a list with tactics for newbies like:

- what is a good group to capture a :
  small field
  middle size field
  big field
  vehicle field

- how to defend a field

etc etc

Also, i still dont know what happens when u bomb a  HQ or a city or a factory. I would like some  more info about this stuff.

Mostly, i fly with the guys i know allready, when a "strange" pilot ask me to join him i dont react instantly mostly.

I know what you are saying Beefcake, I have also experienced this.  I think that some people look at the map, see where their countryman have an advantage and are vulching and head there, trying to run up a streak of kills.  The trouble is that its not a few people, its the majority that do this.

Another problem is that for some people flying a bomber or a C47 is a pain, they just wont do it.  I constantly fly with the same bomber pilots and constantly shout for a C47, sometimes I will even auger my bomber to take a transport,

I think when there or organized events we will have some better luck with working as a team.  I fly with a sqn and it makes things much better.

Alright, Beef, since you posted semi-civally I'll grace you with my attention for a couple minutes before resuming my yawning.

If you want organization in the main arena, look for it in a squad, not a country.  Bishops, Rooks and Knights all have their share of pilots that are into furballs, not organized base strikes (which is perfectly fine).  With some exceptions, most of the offensive pushes in the arena are carried out by a squad or group of squads that know how to work together.  My advice:  Find a squad that thinks like you do and you'll be much happier than trying to be the supreme commander for a country.

I can't tell you how many times I've heard my fellow Knights say 'If we don't get organized soon, I'm going Bish!'.

I'll leave names out, but there are a good number who have done this, only to later be found playing bish again (just without as much fanfare the second switch).  I'm sure the two nations of heathen nonbelievers have similar situations.

I'm here to stay though, the more idiodic, squalid, unorganized, lazy, chaotic, slovenly, apathetic you all become the better I fit in.

Why in God name Beef are you assuming that everyone want to bomb & capture bases.

I take no pleasure in capturing bases. I fly for the fight. At least 95% of my air time is spent in a fighter. The fewer bases we have the more targets i have to shoot at.

Im not the only one that flys to fight. As you well know by the amount of guys in fighters. Knights have more bomber pilots and there fore capture fields. To each there own.

Please feel free to whine to the rooks like you did to Bish

you know wardog.... all those bombers we got over in knightland attract a lot of attention.... sure could use a couple more able bodied p51 pilots to escort them... <hint>...<hint>...<nudge>...<nudge>...<wink> ...<wink>.
