If I drop 2,500 pounds from a US Jabo on a hanger I will kill it.

If I drop the same amount from a German Jabo I will not.

Why is this?

What ord did you drop that did not take down a hangar? 2 500 kg and 1 50kg? More specifics might be helpfull.

Four 500KG bombs is 4,400 pounds of bombs.

The Bf 110G-2 caries two 500KG and four 50KG bombs which =aprox 2,640 pounds of bombs.

This will not kill a hanger. Howeaver a P 38 or a P 47 droping 2,500 pounds of ordance on it will.

Last night took a bf110G-2 up for some toejam and giggle runs and took out a fighter hanger and then strafed another one and blew it up. Maybe you didn't score direct hits?

Was it "undamaged", trust me I score good hit's, it is comon knowlege in My squad that the bombs alone will not kill a hanger.

With bigger explosive content of german bombs, those should be well capable of being more powerful than same amount of US/Brit bombs.

Tried this offline yesterday, and yes 2x500kg + 4x50kg won't drop a hangar, though the hits seemed good.

I guess AH equates 500kg to 1000lbs, when it should be

500kg × 0.45359 ≅ 1102,32 lbs

We don't seem to have specific bomb types, they're just x lbs or y kg, so the exact casing/explosive weight isn't figured in the damage... it would be a bit far-fetched to model each individual bomb type for each plane (though I'd like it

)

Why is it far fetched to model the corect weight of explosive for the Metric bomb's? Granted i know from nothing when it comes to this subject(bomb modeling) but if thehave bombs of different weight's now why cant they just modify the existing Metrice one to have the same pound equivelency's, it is just number's right?

Well, the thing is that you'd have to model every specific type of bomb to do that. If you gave the allied 1000lbser an explosive charge of, say 380kg some guy might pop up and say that because he flies Spits, he should have a british mark XY bomb that actually had 392kg of explosives. LW haters (make that "dislikers"

) might argue that the german 500kg type I was indeed used on this-and-that plane and therefore should have only 391kg payload as opposed to the 410 modelled.

I'm quite in favour of calculating lbs and kg weights exactly, by a factor of 0.45359. Anything further than that seems low priority to me ATM, there's more important stuff to be done.

Everyone knows the LW bombs didn't pack the same punch as the allied bombs.
