Did ya ever read Chuck Yeager's account of how he illegally stocked golden trout in the Sierra's of California? IIRC it lead to the worst crash of his career.

(just South of Aspen)

Not bad for a guy from Washington :)

I am officially jealous. Thanks for the pic! Think I'll go mow the yard.

Thks :)

Incidently, if you ever make it out this way, during summer, we'll take a 8 hour drive to my property in Montana, at 7,000 feet, two mountain lakes, largest trout I've caught was 9 lbs (They begin to look like salmon at that size)...smallest was 22 inches.  Pretty much "one cast- one catch" on a partly cloudy day.  It'll ruin you for life.  Step dad has his own private pond stocked with Grayling, Brookies, rainbow.

I'm there Rip!
man I love those days.. we call it 'stupid' fishing because you don't need the skill it takes on a sunny day.

Udie, I'm jealous.

We have a Green Drake hatch going on this month.  It's been awesome.

This is by no means a large fish for the area.. merely a really awesome wild one.  Love the colors but the pic doesn't really do it justice since it was so cloudy that day.
Probably head up there Sunday if the weather is better.
Damn near snowed on us the day of the pic.

I'll be there tomorrow...  being from Wyoming till just a couple years ago, I have a hard time knowing where to go in Colorado, and in not finding a couple thousand people wherever I end up. :(

Ah, no wonder... you are way the hell west of here (Boulder).  Find me a job... preferably a job fly fishing. :)

yeah, I left the front range a few years back.

As I got older, quality of life became more and more important.
Still, come on up.  I'll put ya'll up at my place and we can fish in my back yard (Roaring Fork River).
