Just had a little press conference and said he has Alzheimers disease :(

He's been my favorite actor (him and jimmy stewart) since the first time I saw the 10 commandments when I was about 4 yrs old.

 S!

That is sad.  Awful disease...I have seen what it does first-hand.  Seeing a strong role model act like a two year old child and begging for thier mother is a gut-wrenching experience.:(

Yes....Planet of the Apes, Omega Man, Midway, Ben Hur, Ten Commandments, A Man for all Seasons, and yes, Soylent Green! Just some of the hundreds of works he has performed in over the years. His great presence was felt by all even if you disagreed with his personal philosophy. I the man.

He is a good man.

Not because of his politics or his NRA stance or his acting (which IMHO ain't much better than William Schatner's.)

He is a good man because he has (like Jimmy Stewart) been a loyal family man and provider for decades to ONE wife. That ain't easy to do in Hollyweird, and many (including Ronny Raygun) have failed.

real shame :(

Thats too bad but he did live one hellava full life. I didnt like it when he crashed in Midway, that was messed up for a kid watching that. Then I got older and said, why didnt he simply ditch? In real life he lived a long time, a good life. He made a difference in the pond.

Awful news.  I have respected Heston for a long time.  No man lives forever though.
