since GVs get GV supplies to repair/rearm. why not allow
Goons to be able to load up AV fuel supply crates.
then can fly to the fuelless plane and drop off the fuel and allow the plane to resupply it fuel like 50 gallons, enough to get u home
hopefully or if u deadsticked to field, would allow u to taxi to runway for safe landing.

I think a more realistic approach is in order.

Somewhere around here I have a GENUINE fake picture taken in WWII during the battle of Midway showing an F4F undergoing aerial refueling from an F6F carrying buddy stores.

Seems like a reasonable thing to do, after all, one line of code could allow the C47's to "resupply" aircraft with fuel. (Okay, maybe not one line of code, but time-wise, maybe a slice of pizza and a cold one? )

Sounds horribly gamey to me and a step cloder to the arcade.

Ahh...okay....

Personally, I'd find nothing sweeter than a perk plane being circled by a goon dropping supplies near it. :D

Think "Target opportunity" Revvin :D

If you have historical reference's of this exact operation being conducted on more than a few occassions then fair enough but I've not heard of such an instance.

When I'm out of gas, I just fly towards Whels and let him shoot me down.  He's done it twice already! :)

Sounds like too much work for too little an improvement. How often do guys really ditch due to fuel issues? And how often do you ditch over land?

I'd rather see the same concept be used, except to rescue the pilot, and save his streak, or perks. This concept has been discussed ad nauseum but I still like it.

So, instead of refueling the plane, bring in a goon, or a PBY to pick up the pilot, toss an incendiary grenade in the ditched bird, and fly on home.

I'd be the first guy to sign up for Search and Rescue Ops.

Wlfgng, lol :D

Must say I very rarely ditch for lack of fuel, when it is I've usually got a fuel leak and run out fairly close to base.  Most times I ditch it's because of radiator hits.

Goons/PBY's/H8K2/Whatever coming to rescue/refuel me would be very sweet.  Can only see squaddies doing it though and I'd only ask if I was close to a home field.  Maybe if the rewards (perks) were high enough a few people might risk it.  Maybe a percentage of the guy you picked ups perks plus X amount per pilot rescued?

Wouldn't it be really cool to shoot down a '47 after him rescueing 5 guys and see 6 chutes come out?  :)  Chute shooting heaven.  :D

about as gamey as plane stopping 2 inches off runway and called a ditch, when in RL they just roll the plane onto the runway, then to the revetment for refuel and rearm for next mission. here if no ton runway, u considered to have lost the plane.

^ I agree and just as gamey as the 15 second re-arm refuel pads but why add another gamey feature to fix another?

If there is some historical reference to this then fair enough but if not then the above applies IMO.
