WTG Brady!

I know the 1942 planeset is weak, maybe in a few weeks you can run the same map with a 1943 PTO set up That'll give you a little more to work with plane wise. P-40Es, F4U1s, A6m5s, Ki-61's, and CV based F6's.
That would make a great progressive set up with this map.
For now and what we have in the way of 1942 aircraft this should be great!
Thank you again.. WELL DONE!

brady,

If we can pry you away from the MA long enough, there is a bug in the CT.
Arena was just reset, and IJN has access to P38, all the F series USN birds, Me109F4, etc.........
Ya might wanna look at it?

Hehehe, Lowe,

It evened out, the USN had N1K2J's and B-26's, so it wasn't a one sided bug.

Great setup, zero is a tough foe, but US dive bombers carry 1000lbs. Love the map. Is there a chance we will ever see a map with fleets only and no land airfields? Something like a coral sea battle, just a thought.

CM Terrain Team is putting finishing touches on a Midway Map, which will be pretty close to your all-cv terrain.

Midway... did I read that right? A Midway setup? With mainly cv fights? AWESOME!!! Can't wait! :) Oh, and this setup is nice too, I'm just not so good at killing bulletproof F4F's, lol :p

Edit: Was the wildcat really so much tougher than the hellcat? Sheesh, in the game that thing is tougher than a jug!

Blue.

The Wildcat was tough, but what I think you are being frustrated by is the  A6m2s fire power.
The 20mm cannons seem to have a very slow muzzle velocity, a very short ammo clip, and the MG's are rifle caliber, so almost worthless against aircraft. The frustration for the 303's the Allied pilots have in the BOB is what your going through this week. Only we don't have 8 Popguns we 2.
I have found the P-40 is just as hard to shoot down as the F4F, remember, this is really the first early war Japanese gun models we've seen. Your used to the A6m5, and KI-61 Cannons and MG's which were improved over the A6m2. Plus add to the fact the F4F is sporting 50 cals, and just a couple of those rounds will turn your Zeke into a roman candle, makes this a very interesting matchup. Both sides have to use their aircrafts strentgh's to take advantage of the other planes weak points.
Basically it's a mirror image of last week. Only now the Allies planes are best used to B&Z, and the Axis pilots are wanting to slow the fight down to a  turn contest which favors their planes.
Plus add to that the bombers are still out running the fighters, it is just like BOB.:D

The zero is the best plane in there. The only chance I have in the f4f is to get the first shot in, but if they duck under me and I miss I'm usually toast.Try to avoid the h2h, and try not to make your move too early. And why in god's name am I giving info to the enemy.....doh!!
