Refresh my memory...the beta map was the one with the airfield right in the middle of the map that was on a high plateau...you rolled north and could run straight down a cliff, right? Had some canyons as well to the south if I remember correctly...

The first beta map had 20K snow-covered mountains in the middle and was quite small IIRC. The map with the 10K airbase in the middle was the map AH was using when it first went pay-for-play.

The one with the airfield in the center at 10k is called sfterr. It was the first map to have vehicles.

I miss the sfterr map.

I joined AH 1.03 so I don't think I've ever played on the Beta map then. But I'm sure it rocked to.
