Punt, I vote for G.55 only cause of production numbers. (my book says 212, 12 more than the 152)

Let's here it for the 5 series...

G.55 probably flown by Capitano Giovanni Bonet, credited with between 7 and 11 kills.  After shooting down a B-17, Bonet was in shot down and killed by 'Herky' Green of the Checkertail Clan.

and the C.205V Veltro with a very interesting Luftwaffe-like scheme flown by Capitano Adriano Visconti, credited with 10 kills before his death in April '45.

Do to my recent move my book on Italian aces is in storage:(

I know the that their were aces that flew for the Axis after Italy Surendered, howeaver I am not shure if the ones who flew for the alies actualy saw enough combat to do so, I can't say as I recall 100%.

Anyone notice behind the cockpit on both a/c metal slopes down to the tail like the P-51B. Did they ever think of using bubble canopies?

G.55 please. Re.2005 is ugly.

Purely subjective opinion of course.

Yes, they all ended in 5 (205, 2005, G.55) becuase they were part of the Series 5 aircraft, which were to use the DB605 Inverted V12 engine
