Some of you may recall a post 6 months ago. I had seen a Black Lab in the local shelter and was wondering if I should rescue him. I did. Bradley is by far the best companion dog I have ever had. He loves to just be around me. He enjoys the car, walks, chasing cats and playing with the grand kids stuffed animals. We have both dropped a few pounds since we have been on a 2-a-day walk schedule.
I took him to our 4th of July parade, and he just sat regally and got himself admired by all the passers by. Best decision I've made in quite a while. I was also told that rescuing a dog from the pound was good karma. :D

hehe grats MT.  I always try to get pets from shelters or the pound.  The animals really seem to appreciate it.  Real odd.

I did buy a puppy from a puppy farm, which I am sorry I did.  I mean the pup is great just pure fun, but the idea of supporting puppy mills, blech.

wtg mt

nice pooch

have had two labs
how's the backyard :)
heard somewhere they were used to dig up potatoes in Ireland or something thus the desire to constantly dig. My last one would dig a trench under the electric fence from about 10 ft back and belly crawl under :)

He has done some of that. We have a row of hedges next ot the pool. He has renovated a small basement under the hedge. This is his cool place to go when the temps are 100+ here.

BTW when we go into the Mts. he will always prefer wading into the stream or lake nearby, but he doesn't seem to like the pool much? Wassup?

They said he was 3.... seems older to me too.

Midnight Target.

I have a Siberian Husky Eagler, I know all about holes.   My old man came over our house with a metal detector and found a 1951 dog license (whoopee).  Our Husky on the other, found a WWII steel penny that was wrapped in some old newspaper, it is great shape for a 43.   But he a very protective dog around our 11 mo. old son.

Oh yeah, btw, handsome dog.  I like labs and so does my Husky

if he's a black lab (which he apparently is) and he's got gray hair growing around the bottom of his muzzle (which I think I see)

He's not 3.

it grows over the top of the muzzle I think when they are near 10ish but it's hard for me to remember...

my dog's been gone a long time now =(..and I haven't gotten another.

Dogs that have been rescued are the BEST.  I had my dog for almost 14 years...from the Humane Society in Toronto...lost him in May 2000.

damn dog threads...always get me thinking about him.:(

I have a black lab also.  I got her in 1992 when she was just a puppy.  Here she is chasing snowballs last winter...being from Texas, she didnt quite understand what snow is, but I think she enjoyed it.
