...are two very good reasons for a perma squelch.

Please HT, a perma squelch would make the VAST majority of players happy.

When at the convention, Daddog would let me use his computer and account and walk away to find something to do while I flew in the MA under his nickname. Once after killing a foe or two, Sunking who was next to me told me I should talk trash to those I killed "learn how to fly, dweeb!" That had me cracking up and I think is very funny because Daddog is most probably the nicest guy you can meet and would never do anything of that sort.

I have noticed a few names seem to think Channel 1 is a chat room.

If we get the bunch of new players that targeted ads bring in, the Ch 1 baloney is going to run off the more mature ones in short order. I suspect the way targeted ads work, we'll be getting a group that's not too interested in the smack talk.

Sooner or later we're going to have to find a way to use a little peer pressure on CH1.

Personally the smack talk and friendly banter doesnt bother me too much. There are however many times when it gets out of hand and either one or the other just wont shut up about it.

I have noticed a little stronger HTC presence in the arenas lately. Maybe that is the trend now. I sure hate to see it cause I know there are other way more productive ways for them to spend their time other than monitoring the arena and handing out discipline.

I agree with Toad....maybe its time for a little more peer pressure on the heavy offenders.

I've not heard anything from that bit of offal in MONTHS. /.squelch 1 is automatic on login. I used to /.squelch 6, but the new kill messages make it significantly less obnoxious.

I'm there to fly, have fun, and decompress from the real world, not listen to a DSW carried on by a bunch of 13yoms. At one point I had my squelch list peggeded when some twits decided to hash out the Middle East conflict on the country channel. For some reason HTC won't let you sq the country channel.

My only gripe? The maximum number of players in the squelch list needs to be upped some days.

Cussing is a different story however on the open channels.
