Y is it so hard to kill rooks?

Man I,m startin to think some rooks have a cheat going on. Sure would like to know how a niki ( paper plane) can still fly undamaged after getting hit by a La7's cannon. Plus I have film of a gv battle were I,m hitting a tank with a m-8 10 to 15 times with HE and he kills me with 1 shot  ( OH MY it was a rook tank)Realy think HT needs to look into this. BTY I,m not the only one that see's this happeningNow I don't mind getting killed, heck I,m gettin good at it, But I know there are some hacker's out there that can't rely on their own skills so they have to cheat. In the end the only ones they cheat are themselfs:confused:

Weeelll... no comment on the La-7 vs niki thing.  That could have been lag, or you just didnt hit him as hard as you thought you did, or something.  

The problem with the tank is rather self evident.

Few problems with this one (or perhaps misconceptions)

1.  The M-8 will NEVER kill a panzer with the 37mm HE round.  You could be 3 feet away with your barrel touching the back end- all you'll do is blow your barrel up when that round explodes.  It doesn't have the poop to penetrate the armor on the Panzer IV.  Any of the armor.  

2.  "He killed me with 1 shot".  A small child can kill the M-8 with a well thrown rock.  A panzer killing you in one shot with a 75mm cannon isn't all that surprising.  

3.  So, we know the tank wasn't cheating anyway, right?

Given the range, angle, and warhead type, if it didn't penetrate the first round, it isn’t going to penetrate the 15th round either.  So the number of times you hit him is pretty irrelevant.

Also, as you state, you were hitting a Panzer with HE round.  Not the best ordinance type to get penetration on hardened armor.  He killed you with 1 shot.  I bet he was using AP ordinance.

There are often MANY more probable causes of a given behavior than someone hacking.    However, it takes a lot less mental effort to simply fall back to the hacking accusation.  There are always people who prefer to take the path of least intellectual resistance.

With the M8 you have a choice in the hanger to load HE or AP. You had the wrong ammo for the tank battle.

Hacking I don't think so

ok, here goes...

now before we accuse people of cheating, let's get the basic facts down.

As Karnak already implied, the N1K2-J is no paper plane.  In fact, it had much armor and automatic fire extinguisher system on board.

HE (High Explosive) rounds from an M8 will not harm a Panzer especially if you hit it from the front where the armor on the Panzer is so thick, even the AP (Armor Piecing) rounds will bounce off.  I have seen my rounds bounce off, haven't you?

And of course one shot from a Panzer will kill an M8.  Think of how little the armor is on the M8, it's no better than the M3.

If you wanna kill tanks in M8, use terrain masking.
Don't try HO. Destroy tank's turret first.
Then hit a track of target.

Ambushing is main tactics of M8.

The M8 is an ARMORED CAR, not a tank or a tank destroyer.  If you want to kill a panzer with it, you need to outmaneuver it and get behind it.

If you are a bish or knit, go to the maproom and hit "Change Country".  Next hit "Rook".  Now select from "Use Superduper Armour That No-one Else Has" or "Normal".

As much as I hate to admit it, it does seem like the rooks have better overall pilots.  Probably because the rooks are usually outnumbered and all of the bad pilots have left to gangbang.

You forgot to tell him about our "force field" option that we have to put around our planes.  Oh, and the "laser beam" loadout we can choose in the hangar.

As far as rooks having the best pilots...well...as a rook, I'd have to agree with that statement.  However, I will say that each country has its share of great sticks.  I can think of about 20 off the top of my head.  You hit the nail right on the head describing the problem.  Pilots switch countries to suit their needs to obtain points.  It's far easier to get your precious perk points when you outnumber an enemy 2:1 or more.

Ok, I've got to get back to work on my "holographic image" hack that will allow rooks to project up to three exact copies of our planes when fighting knights and bishops.
