Invisable again

No. They aren't when they shoot.  But I have had several instances where I was checking my 6 (constant habit) when a bogie just appeared 150 yards behind me, while I am looking back there.  Also I have had 6 calls and this has happened.  Obviously they are visible to other people.  This only happens when there are large numbers around.

I have been playing this game for years.  I know the difference between a con coming up from a blind spot, and one just appearing, wings level, 150 yards off my 6.

Does the 3.2 only happen when they are low to the ground?

I've had this happen with ground vehicles.  2 would be sitting side by side and well within 1.5k when one would just disappear and come back 10 seconds later.

Had a similar problem. Was in a mission at 10K and one icon comes and goes (with a very fast über speed) all 10 secs. Should have made a film of it.

interesting....this happened twice yesterday afternoon to me.. first time , I had just checked six, hi and low and dar..then a few moments later I was getting my tail shot off.. I figured I had my head up my bellybutton and just didn't look well enough, oh well...then a bit later the same thing happened.

I'm glad you made this post, because I have a confession to make.

Last week I was working from home and did some flying during the day.  During the day, there's a lot of PacRim guys online and they like to fly their country's planes: Spitfires, Hurricanes, and N1K2s with the occassional LA-7 throw in the mix.  I think there's  a higher proportion of N1K2 flyers during the day than during the night hours.  Anyway, there were maybe 100 or 150 people on..  I was miles from the action and decided to have a little fun, so I jumped on Channel 1 and started broadcasting a little propoganda, playing the role of a newby who doesn't know how to work the radio channel and is looking for a countryman:

"GoFaster: I'm at 15,000 in a Spitfire.  I'm flying with a keyboard."

"GoFaster:  We should fly together. Where are you?  I don't see you."

"GoFaster: No, I don't know where I am.  Over an island of some sort."

"Gofaster: Ok, I'm at 15,000 and I see a dot below me."

"GoFaster: Hey, its a red N1K2. Are those easy to kill? I'm going down."

"GoFaster: No, he hasn't seen me yet.  I've got the perfect drop on him."

"GoFaster: He's wiggling his wings but he's still flying straight. I don't think he's seen me yet."

"GoFaster:  Man!  He's filling my whole windscreen!  How do I shoot my cannons?"

Maybe I'm evil, but I could just imagine all of the PacRim pilots having a heart attack right about then.  Made the time pass a little quicker...
