"SNAPSHOT" was great Jordi

It was my 1st special event of any kind in AH but not my last :)

The only pitfall I experienced was a 2 to 3 second screen freez every time I pulled the trigger to fire.
Is there anything I can do to fix this on my end?
I've had NO problems in any other arena.

I am on dial up, always 50-53.3k connect speed.
1.4gig P4, 256megs rdram, nvidia TNT2

HELP! I want to fly SEA:D

I did not hear of any other problems like that ?

WE did have a Crash to desktop problem at launch by several people. But that cleared itself up soon afterwords.

Try going in there again with no one else and see if it still happens ?

The 2-3 second screen freezes hit me on occasion.  They almost always happen when I just open fire on something.  I believe they're related to the way AH uses ram, and the freeze happens while windows desperatly does some disk swapping.  Closing down any programs running(especially browsers) seems to fix it.

It could be your TNT 2??  I had that same prob quite regularly til I upgraded to a GF 2 Ti. It  has only happened occasionally since and  then only when I have a poor connect.

Thanks gents:cool:

256 rdram with 500 front side bus should serve as well as
512 sdram...can't be the ram.

I probably do need to upgrade my vid card. :(

Goose,

You could try turning your audio acceleration down... Do you have SBlive 5.1?  If so, it's a known resource hog.  Mine is in the desk drawer simply because it does the same thing, not so bad, but similar.  Assuming of course that you have one to begin with...  But that video card is pretty old, GF4s are <$200 now.. time to upgrade?

TY BigMax,

Yep, that's my soundcard :(

What is the best (with budget in mind) vid card to get?
Sounds like I need to go ahead with an upgrade.
I also can add ram, but this RDram isn't cheap either
