I'm thinking of upgrading my stick and have been looking at Ch Products line. I had planned on getting a CH fighterstick and pedals but wondered about the utility of the throttle component. The stick seems to have a sliding throttle so what does the stand alone throttle bring to the table that justifies its' cost?

Sox62,
I recently upgraded from analog to USB CH gear (I have the same setup as you except I opted for the Combat Stick) and haven't figured out how to get it to interface with Aces High.
While it looks easy enough, it's not as familar as the ol' Speedkeys were.  I've assigned specific keys using the CH Control Manager, but the AH setup doesn't recognize what I've programmed.  Care to share your secrets?

Boat,
My two cents worth... The Pro Throttle is great for programming flap controls, dive brakes, map select/zoom functions, etc.  Keeps your hands and eyes off the keyboard.  Well worth the investment in my opinion.  But I've flown with an AW3 squadmate who used nothing more than a $10 joystick and he was a heck of a lot better than me.  Its not what you have but how you use it.

The secret?Easy-I don't map my keys through Aces High.I use the control manager.

Use the add(the + - button)to add your throttle,pedals.

Make sure at the control wizard button(looks like a lightning bolt)you choose 6-axis,32 button.(This will enable all three controllers, pedals, throttle, etc).

Check with the help button to learn the command keys that you need to map.

I DO NOT map in Direct X Mode.

e-mail me at  miked62@insight.rr.com ,and I'll mail you my map.Place it in C:/Program Files/Ch Products/Control Manager/Maps            folder.

It will help show you how to make your own maps...  :)

Oh-you do have the same set-up as me...I also have the Combatstick.
