« on: August 19, 2002, 03:02:15 PM »
well ive been playing this game for about a month and i have a few questions....one is that is there i way i can make the game more difficult so that the emeny atacks me while im in there air too. the next questions is thateverytime i take off my plane starts to stall and fall out of the sky and spin and fly sideways. and one last question is that when i go to attack and everything i take of and do whatever i bomb and stuff. and on the way back my gear doesnt lower. ive checked my damage and i usually dont have any or much and its never the gear or anything related, but my gear does not lower ive tried it on all the possible speeds and it still does not lower.... any help on any of these

  :(

Um...not entirely sure how much help I can be, but I will try.

Firstly, I'll try to sort out your questions from what you wrote.

1) Can I make the game more difficult so that the enemy attacks me when I'm in their airspace?

2) What can I do to avoid stall on takeoff?

3) Why doesn't my gear lower?

Assuming that the above are the correct questions, here are my answers:

1) The only thing I can possibly get from this is that you are playing offline and wish for the drones to attack.  Sorry, they don't.  You want some enemies to attack you, come to the main arena, join either bishop or knights, and tell me where you are.  I'll gladly bring my rook pony over to help you out.

2) If you are using auto-takeoff, you shouldn't be stalling out, unless you are attempting to roll off a carrier with a heavy ordinance loadout.  If it stalls out once you are airborne, is it because you attempted to make to radical a course adjustment?

3) There was another post regarding this recently.  Unfortunately, I can't help you with a resolution.  Just make sure that you are travelling slower than the maximum deployment speed when you try to lower them.  Try looking in the "bugs" forum...there might be an answer there.

I'll take a stab at 'em.

1.  Don't take of from fields being vulched.

2.  At slow speeds be delicate with stick movements and wait until speed is over 130 or so before you start manuevering, or go to Clipboard > Setup > Flight > and select auto takeoff.

3.  My guess is that you never retracted the gear and they broke at highspeed; if not remember that gear won't come down on most aircraft until under 200 mph.

...anyway, hope this helps.

I think jonnyb has the right ideas since I read the questions as asking the same though the use of english is a little fragmented.

1) Drones can't go offensive so they only circle as targets.  If you want live targets you will have to either play H2H, go online into the training arena, or go into one of the active arenas (which aren't that friendly typically).  I would recommend trying out the training arena and trying to hook up with a trainer when you get there so he can help you out.

2) Auto-take-off tends to leave your airspeed pretty low while you climb out at, or around, 200mph. This is often not a whole lot above stall speeds for a heavily loaded aircraft so any sort of sharp maneuver might be enough to stall you.  After you climb to altitude you may want to run level and pick up some more speed before maneuvering.  Also, check your stick scaling, I know that a lot of people have set their sticks far to sensitive and it causes a small spike in the stick to kick them into wild stalls/spins.

3) You're probably going too fast so the gear won't deploy.  On most planes the maximum speed for deployment of gear is 200mph or less.  At 201mph it will rip off and between 200-250ish it will creak under strain.  You might need to slow down, bleed speed in turns or with flaps/speed-breaks, and then try to put your landing gear down.  Take a look at your speedo though and see how fast you are going when you try to lower your gear, I bet you are just going too fast.
