What gives you the greatest enjoyment when you destroy it?

I mostly fly the Mosquito Mk VI.  The aircraft I like seeing least is the La-7 as it pretty much means I'm going to die unless it is either way below me, heavily engaged or doesn't see me.  However, I garner relatively little pleasure from killing an La-7.  When I kill an La-7 I am glad, but only because it means there is one less La-7 near me and I get a decent perk point bounty.  I harbour an intense dislike of the La-7 for amny reasons, but it is not the most satisfying kill.


What I enjoy killing the most is Fw190s.  This isn't because "Luftweenies", "Luftwaffles" or any other insulting term you can think of tend to favor 190s.  Hell, I like 190s, they're my favorite German aircraft.  They look great, are leathal as hell and a blast to fly.
The reason I think I enjoy killing Fw190s more than any other aircraft is that they are what I consider the historical nemisis of the Mosquito.  Fw190s are the top of the line German prop fighter and so when I shoot one down I have defeated the best historical opponent of my Mossie.

Frankly, even if I loose I still enjoy a good Mossie vs. 190 fight.


What do you gentlemen (and ladies) get the best feeling from killing?

I tend to enjoy killing the historical opponents of whatever plane I happen to be flying.  When I'm flying the P51 I enjoy fighting LW planes, when I'm flying a F6F I favor IJN/IJA opponents.... granted I do have my moments of ALL N1K'S MUST DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but I usually right that off as "I'm just fighting the natural enemy of my hellcat" .    I also enjoy it when I can down a "better" plane.

F4Fs are tanks.
P38s are a sinch (big target, weak tail)
Yaks are slippery fish (used to have a tough time with them)
N1K's are definitely satisfying but not as much as they used to be (I only find poor pilots nowadays).
Zekes are fun to set fire with MGs and watch them fly around and meet their ultimate fate.
I sympathize with Hogs because I am a hog pilot.. and I see and exploit their mistakes.
109/190s are fun to scissor and rip a wing off.  My LW brethren, forgive me
Mosquitos set fire just as easy as zekes do.
Come in at a high angle, take out their turrets and watch them flail helplessly as they attempt to gun you down with the Hull MG.

Spitfires have a neat tendency to set fire and have a left/right wing tear off completely (which is good)
La7, yes.  Gotta teach the newbs to get a new craft.
Typhoons:  filling them with their own 20mm is satisfying.

BUT

My favorite is putting hot taters into another Me262 from my own quad-tater launcher.

Assists can be good too, One particular incident springs to mind a few days ago, I killed a nameless players engine while he was spouting off on CH1.  The guy who finished him off deadstick got the mouth, I got the pleasure of sitting back knowing I'd done the damage.

Easy question. I fly mostly a 1D. Any fighter that had me on a high six bounce with smash.

Doesn't happen too often, I ain't that great and don't put myself in those positions if I can help it. But when it happens and I kill him, I have visions of "you were killed by nopoop" in my mind...

Doesn't get any better than that

I dont get much satisfaction out of killing N1k's - they are usually poorly flown and predictable.  I like to see a 38 because gunnery is my weak point.  

I will say that I have the most fun attacking buff formations - B17's especially.

I have to admit it's the LA7s.  Just a few hours ago I was flying in the MA.  CAP over a hot base with about 6 others.  This LA7 come screaming onto the field and, as LaLas are want to do, latched on to some poor Spit.  I was in an FM2 I think.  He had the drop on us all, so I sort of circled and kept some alt.  When he had burned off his E (thankfully that Spit driver was good or the La7 driver was bad) I spiralled down to his six.  Now I had the E advantage .  He was in a shallow bank, squeezing off rounds.  I found the blessed angle and flew behind and THROUGH him as he exploded with my MGs blaring.  This was particularly satisfying because there were a few other guys that stuck to his six and burned E with him, but could never quite catch up.  Yeah, any explosion kill is enough for me.

I like Killing Bombers.

I will fly 75 miles to shoot one down. I stick with bombers for a long time even if they have dropped thier rocks already. I like slowly overtaking my  opponent then trying to Head On them.
I like to land hit sprites all over the cockpit. I like to taunt them on open channel.

Its just the thrill of finding a Big formation almost makes me salivate.
