Has anyone got any maps of d-day that show the locations of CVs and other ships, gun batteries, and airfields?

June 2002 National Geographic has (i think) what you're looking for.  I'd scan it, but my scan wouldn't preserve the geometry or the magazine...scanner is not flatbed, map is on facing pages.  it shows the location of shore batteries, and where all the ships went down & how they got it (mines, bombs, etc.) there are a few other maps in the article too.  as far as i know, no CVs were used in Overlord, but many BBs, DDs, and just about any other type of ship other than carriers.  i guess UK was so close they didn't need carriers

Hi Ben,
As it happens I have just bought a job lot of books from a Guy who has for some reason decided he isn't interested in Warfare any more. £80 For around 100 book covering tiitles covering "The Luftwaffe War Diaries" through to a 660+ page Behemoth called "The D-Day Encyclopedia". This thing has 418 maps, Photographs & Drawings. I'm sure I can find what your looking for. I'll wade through it over the weekend and Scan whatever I can find.

Hi Ben,
 This may take some time....

Not to much on actual ship positions. But I'm still digging

Heres a few pages detailing the breakdown of "Neptune" with a map showing the Sea routes points of departure etc.

I also have found a record of each ship broken down by "Force assignment" (Allies & Axis) I'll scan those as well.

I'm off on holiday for 2 weeks from Monday but I'll dig some more when I get back if you like.

(7 attachments follow).
