Pyro, question about the HE and AP rounds...
« on: April 27, 2000, 08:44:00 PM »
I aksed Natedog this question yesterday and he said to ask you.

I know the difference between the AP round and HE round, but is there any reason not to take all AP rounds?  For example, does HE work better against structures ?  Why take and HE round when a AP round will destroy a tank and a M16.  Are there benefits in the game to have some HE with you that I am missing, it seems that the AP can pretty much do everything, even take out a hanger if you want to use the 20 rounds or so.

takes more than 20 AP rounds to take out a hanger.  I put 20 AP rounds plus 2/3 or so of the coax ammo into a vehicle hanger at ~200yds before it went down.  Conversely, 2 fighter hangers fell to 17HE/3AP and 19HE/1AP at ~350-400yds

As Cave said, AP is better used for tanks.  I personally carry all HE if the target is NOT a V-depot.

If you join up on our  unofficial "Afrika Corp", you'll have access to intelligence metrics we have on buildings and such, how many rounds, etc.  Of course, you'll have togo Knight twice a month, we meet the 1st and 3rd Sat. of each month.
