This Typhoon / P-51D / P-47D-30 suicide mission with two 1,000lbers is BS.

This is supposed to be more fun than heavy bombers with lazer guided bombs were?  At least the bombers would usually try to live and fight back.  Now its just losers in fast fighters with bombs doing nearly uninterceptable kamikaze runs.

I hope Lazs is happy.

(Mind you, I do not want lazer guided bombs from buffs, but I do want something to fix the suicide Jabo issue).

lol right.

These are the same guys that would fly 3k bombers over a field and suicide a hanger. Now they cant hit anything so they moved on to next best thing.

They are more fun to watch argering then it was to watch the fluffs. Because before 1 fluff could do the same thing. Now the need 2 fighters per structure :)

Besides the jabo auger raids were a part of the main prior to 1.10. Now theres just more off um because bombing is to hard for umm.

nice try though.

Wotan,

OK, whatever.  I never observed a suicide buff.  I did once (in more than two years of playing AH) have a B-17G pilot bail out before I got in range to shoot him.  Pissed me off to the point were I almost shot his chute.

In the last week alone I have seen five mass attacks by kamikaze Jabos.

Whine and insinuate what you will, but I know the frequency of this crap is way, way up.

And no, it isn't any more enjoyable to watch this kind of stuff than it is to watch a Lanc at 35k pinpoint blast all the FHs.  They are both ed up acts.

Only way to stop suicide jabo is to make some other "unrealistic" tactic the best.

I still think that buffs wiping out fields is a hell of a lot less unrealistic than jabos.  It might be cool to perk the 1000lb bombs slightly on jabos.  1 perk each or something.  Helps to open up the ordnance gap between the buffs and the jabos.  Hell you could even give the p38 the 2000lb bombs for a couple of perks each.

Do this, and you end up with suicide a-20s, b26s.  You end up with divebombing lancasters and b17s, which we're already seeing.

Anyways, dropping bombs on an airfield without getting killed is easy.  Most of the people who die are just handsomehunkes, compress, and cant pull out.

When you see 15 Tiffies all dive in and die without pulling up I don't think its because they're all handsomehunkes who compressed and couldn't pull out when they tried to.  Especially not when you see the same group do it repeatedly.

I am not happy with the sucidal typhoons eitherm but here is a few sugestions on how to prevent/stop it:

1) Just perk the bombs.

2) Give each bomb a 10 perk value. If you up, you bombs hit your target, and you RTB, you get the 10 perks back. If you up, bombs hit your target, then you get killed A2A you get 10 perks back. If you up, sucide a hanger, you loose all perks.

3) Toughen up the hangers

Personally, I would like #2.

The suicide typh have need going on fer a long time karnak. Suiciding cvs has gone on a long time.

A suicide buff is any bomber that comes in at 6 k to kill a hanger knowing he will be killed.

You are whining about something that has always been then pointing the finger at something that really has nothing to do with it.

We all knew that once the bomber model was made a relatively "harder" that some of those who claimed to be buff pilots would move on.

I am not insinuating anything. I telling you straight out. The same suicide bomber pilots are now suicide jabo pilots. Theres was already a group of suicide jabo pilots out there prior to 1.10. Now they are a bit larger.

I dont think your "bomb factory x = reduce structure x" will change this. It will make it easier for the suicide crew.

I remember being in the tower in 1.08 watching a raid of rook jugs attack a field I counted 9 before I stopped,  all suicided. Half dropped their bombs to low they didnt even explode.

You simply dont know what you are talking about if you think this is a new thing.

But its their game they can have fun how ever they find it.

Wotan,

You are correct that my proposed bomber system would have no effect at all on this.  It wasn't designed with any counter to this in mind.

The reason I doubt your version of events is that I never saw suicide bombers.  If the MA had been full of suicide bombers I think I'd have noticed, and if that were the case I'd agree with your assesment of events.  However, I saw a bunch of bomber drivers who weren't suicide prone.  It doesn't make sense that they'd suddenly stop trying to survive.

Yes, I know the Kamikaze Jabo (isn't that a charming confluence of Axis terms) has been with AH for a long time, we;ve all seen it many, many times.  I've just never seen nearly as much of it as I have in the last two weeks.

Here is my theory as to what caused it:

The fighter fliers who are into base capture suddenly found that the bomber fliers were no longer taking out the FHs and VHs like they were used to, instead the bomber guys were out doing whatever they are doing to transition out of bombers.  So in desparation to gain the effect the bombers used to supply, these base capture oriented fighter jocks turned to Kamikaze Jabo as a solution.

I know there is a Bishop Tiffe squad that is infamous for this tactic and has been for a long time, but I have never defended against them.  The last two were both Knight attacks and used P-47D-3os and P-51Ds.  I'm sure there are Rook groups that commit this dweebishness as well, though as a Rook it is less apparent to me who they are.
