I was surfing the Saitek forums today and came across this little tidbit.....

Some people have had their EEPROMS "blow" on them. This causes the controller to not detect using the old drivers. With these new drivers you can remove the EEPROM from the stick if it is faulty and they still work with the controller. Incidentally, despite what you may read here or elsewhere, the EEPROM problem is not massively widespread - we've only had a very low percentage of returns with faulty EEPROMs.

Does that sound like your problem?

I tried to put that stick on my old pc two weeks ago and it's IMO a POS . I spent at least 5 hours and still didn't get the stuck mode switch to come off .

I will also add I ain't that stupid at gamecontrolers so if I can't get it to work I got to add that I just bet there's one hell of a lot more out there that can't either . PLUS the squeak made my old ch gameport throttle NOT be seen in speedkeys , grrrrrrrrrrrr !!!!

Soooooooo I orderd a CH USB set and low and behold all I had to do was plug them in and they all worked with NO drivers other than what windows had .

I then sent them home with my bud airsid were he now uses them with winxp . He could NOT get his x36 to work with that OS .

Rip try the FFB 2 from Microsoft with your old Saitek x36 throttle , it's working great and I love the feel in AH .

Did you buy the store warr. for the x45 ? If so just trade the squeak back in for a FFB 2 as the damn thing don't work for alot of us .

Sorry to hear you bought one of these , I got mine when I store returned a x36 that had hat problems .
My current Ace's High handle is spro
