ive just installed (full) XP pro from winME and havent had any problems. I use to get crashes with ME all the time but since XP was installed i havent had any problmes.

only problem ive come accross is that my gta3 disk reads as an MP3 file in the drive so i cant install it. :(
it just shows all the mp3 and music files but not the install exe.

chaos, go into the folder settings and make sure you have it set to view ALL file types and not hide the registered ones.

There seems to be one HUGE difference between XP and Win2K.... at least if you are using MICROSOFT Sidewinder 2 FFB joystick. There is no control software for Win2K for their own stick :( :(

That link title is a bit misleading ... that page has all kind of drivers, not only W2K. Also the Sidewinder software found there, *Sidewinder v3.02, cannot be installed to Win2K...... or is it only my Win2K that rejects it??

Sidewinder2 "works" in W2K without any separate software, but it cannot be configured in any way. Forces are all at max and if the centering forces disappear suddenly (has happened to me often recently) there is no other way to get them back than restarting AH. Earlier in Win98 I could leave the plane with autopilot, alt+tab to desktop and get the forces back through the Sidewinder Ctrl software.

Unless some1 can convince that it is only me and that there is a fix... goodbye Win2K :(

....
btw. That link froze the whole opsys (Win2K) when trying to scroll the page in Netscape 4.7 with naviscope enabled...

oops sry.. I just did a quick search and thought I'd found it.

I'd suggest you do the same.  I'm almost sure someone has developed drivers for Win2k.  but I don't know for sure.
