Guys, I think it would be wery nice if we had a special forum "AH People" where anyone could post his background info - one thread per player.
Preferably no one should be able to reply to a post to avoid clutter - only an original author able to edit or reply to the post.
The posts should never get obsolete in that forum.
It is very hard to have a meaningfull discussion if you do not remember who the other guy is. The user profile info is very limited.
I know that we had many "Who are you" threads with a lot of responces but that info is pretty much lost.
Every time I am trying to make a meaningfull responce I have to look up other threads, etc.
The post should preferably contain the background info, age, occupation, areas of expertise, hobbies, political affiliations, even favorite links and links to the most significant posts you made.
Also current projects, problems and unanswered questions.
Also the current hardware/software setup, problems and solutions, etc.
A search in that forum could yield lot of usefull contacts.
The posts could contain graphics and the regular posts could contain links to those "presonal info" posts instead of replicating the stuff all over.
Basically, those would be our personal pages on this board but without flashy graphics crap.
It would be much easier to make frienships, find someone who knows something you are interested in, etc.
That would go a long way towards promoting a community spirit with almost no effort on HTC part.
