Heh, yes Hangtime, we've been doing this too long.

I figure you guys know me by my patented Jug "600 Mph evasion maneuver".    "Hey... look at that 47 go... he must be over 500 MPH and he's right on the deck.  Must be Leph."

Only guy I can spot for sure is Hang in his 51D - he does this interesting negative-G zoom climb, and generally makes his 51 maneuver like a Zero and shot like a chog.
He even flies a B26 like a fighter.

While I was flying as Ametz there were several people who recognized my style in the 190  . Some of them were welcome to know who was I, and some of them received a "Huh?" as answer

(yup, Zig alright) and I returned to the distant fight with a p51D (having been in that atrocious B thing the previous sortie) To find only one P38 and a 109. I made a fast pass on the p38 and watched the evasive.. "Bug" I sez to myself, and I swap over onto the 109. One turn later I sez "ahhh. Zigrat."

Seems I can do this with other guys too... Udie and Hblair are quick to spot.. tho sometimes I mistake Berserker fer Udie when it gets hot and hairy. Hazed flies a lot like Udie too but he don't do the flick roll the same way. The rythm is diffrent...

Now, it's nothin in particular I can define... but do you guys sometimes get into a fight and on the second or third turn KNOW who it is from the way he flys??

Have we been doin this too long?? LOL!

I'm the one whole extend away from a good TnB (Spit, Nik, whatever) after a hairy engagment, getting out by the skin of the teeth, nothing left...and then reengage like a dumb bellybutton

Oh and in my feeble brain I consider my particular evasive technique a bit of a give away.

I can usually pick kbman and spivey (chog dweebs) out of a crowd. Wardog and manedew (tiffie dweebs). Spatula and hangtime (pony dweebs). Blkhammer (yak dweeb). And ALL of the Night Hawk Squad (10k bish Lanc dweebs   ). Oh and Animal (p38 dead meat dweeb).

Man it easy - find a con and ten seconds latter (if I'm lucky) just look down at radio buffer, and there it is the SOB who just shot me down again.  10 second to ID anyone <S> you fling maniacs

Was flying along in a Spit IX one fine day and spotted a slightly higher P-51.  I acted like I did not notice and once the P-51 past my LOS from a front view I watched it wing over and slightly dive.  I lost it below my starboard side and knew the P-51 would climb up underneath about on my 7 o'clock. I began a slight turn to the right and picked up the P-51 comming on strong and fast. I waited until about D1.6 - 1.7 and tightened my turn to evade. Well instead of opening the area and getting some alt this P-51 starts turning with me!  Huh?  Oh, this guy is toast!!

In the initial part of the turning this P-51 is gaining on me in the turn!!  What!?!?  I'm getting scared but the 51 just can't seem to get the angle. Now I start gaining.  Before this 51 loses too much "E" in the turning, it bugs out!!  Starts a shallow dive and I'm left in the dust!  Well, well, well!  Let me go on a hunch,

Over channel 1, "P-51 turning with Spit over A29, Hang is that you?"

Few seconds later, "Swager, how ya doing?"  It was Hang alright!  He went on to tell me there was not much use in him sticking around anymore. He actually apoligized.

I seen which way he went and I went the other way.  "See ya later, Hang".  No sense in pushing my luck!!  Cool.
