Well all have these kick bellybutton high cost fast systems nowadays, but we all started out with some (now) obsolete piece of garbage.
Mine was:

Packard Bell 75 Mhz
14.4 kbps modem
1.2 GB hard drive
16MB RAM
1 MB video card (upgradeable to 2 MB lol)

That was from 1995. I'm on my 3rd computer, 4th printer, and 2nd monitor now.

What did everyone start out with?

what a load o crap that was +) We had a 5 1/4 flppy drive that its alignment changed daily... save something today... it may not read tomorro!!

i have an old ...well '86 kaypro exp ... it doesnt have a mb so to speak, a 46kb seagate hd that weighs more than a whole modern day desktop pc .. it has the imfamous 9 in green screen . it boots up on 2 floppys, dual side read of course . oh yea no mouse ... And this was a top of its line office pc in its time.

I wonder if i should donate it to a museum ??? (its all compleate and still runs, I'm not shure if the printer still works it ran outta paper over a decade ago ...)

By the way this thing cost more then the most suped up Pent 4 /water cooled /ti4600/ rambuss , ect... costs today .(over 3g if i remember right)

same first console atari 2600 Adventure !! was my favorite game.

then a commedore 128 with a huge disk drive that held very little date 256k ?

both were a load of fun.

Well! Amstrad PCW 8615 with Supercalc on it (Not really a PC I know) then an Apricot 386SX then an Apricot 486DX 50 with 36Mb RAM (none of these PCs could run games needless to say) Contrary to popular belief the 486DX ran Windows 95 no problems at all and thats where I learned Windows.

Then MS Combat Flight Simulator came out and I had to get a PII350 with 64MB Ram. Soon had a Voodoo2. Soon had a Voodoo3 and a PIII600 slotted in with 256Mb RAM as gameplaying got more fevered. Soon had Geforce2 GTS. I still use this machine for work and as a server.

Now (purely for gaming) XP1800 Gf3 Ti500.

Luckily I was able to buld my son a PC with spare parts. Actually gave him my Geforce2 and put his Voodoo3 back in my work machine. Doesn't need good 3d any more.

I'll never forget the thrill of fitting my first Voodoo 2.

first 'game console'- pong

pc- TI-99-4a, 16k ram, cassett tape storage (30 minutes to load 10k worth of data).

it also had the ability to plug in game cartriges, wich was kinda cool at the time. the cartriges came with enough extra ram to run more complicated games than the pc alone. so you could plug in the cartrige and not load the game and get up to 4 times your system ram to work with. 64k ram was top end for a minute or 2 back in the early '80s
