Yep   "low" approach at Hong Kong. The road has been closed according to the text.

Why they closed it, I'll never know...

Yes it is St Marteen.

World famous for it's beach and very low approaches and cross winds. I have a great video clip from one of the St Marteen videos if anyone is interested.

It's not real.  Or it's an optical illusion.  You know just what kind of vorticees that thing would generate on that beach?  And it's not much of a sink-rate for landing.  It's not real.

Nope, it is indeed St. Martin and the picture is Legit. I've landed at the airport and wondered if we were going to plow into the beach myself. The built right up to the verge of the public beach which was still open when we visited.

Here's another picture with a slightly different angle that should help you to understand the approach, plus the caption:

"Landing of a Boeing 747

Amazing !

In St Maarten, the Juliana Airport's runway begins on the beach. And you can walk on this beach and see the landing of the airplanes !

You will love it !" [http://www.cocotier.net/album.html]

The vorticees behind a 747 can flip over another 747.  Until those wheels touch the ground, there can be some strong winds behind that 747.  I'm not saying they land there, but I still say it's an optical illusion.  And someone else is right in pointing out about the gear.  That's kind of last minute to lower the gear and make sure you have good lights before touchdown.

There are shadows under the cars... There is no shadow under the jet. Unless that 747 is travelling faster than the speed of light, it's a fake.

Picture and info is legit. Been there also. The 747 is a little further away than you think and you'll notice that no cars are parked on the road directly in line with runway.

Sorry gentlemen my location was wrong, the "remainder" of pictures at the site are from Hong Kong. Here's two other shots at a more normal approach altitude

As a beach-goer, I think I would fear take-offs much more than landings.

When I was a kid (a long time ago when airport security was much more lax) there were “these guys” who used to climb the fence at Anchorage International Airport and go goof around on the airport grounds.  They would usually go at night and dress in all white, head to toe, to blend in with the snow.  One of the things that they used to do was to lay on the edge of the runway, where the plowed snow met the pavement, as heavies would land (at night).  The instant the jet would go by, they would sprint out onto the runway to “experience” the jet-wash.  They said the 747s and DC-10s made a really warm wind and all kinds of 3D sounds.  One night they decided to run out behind a 747 as it was taking off.  They described running into a wall of wind that was so strong that it knocked them off their feet and blew them head over heals down the runway.  Since it was dark and they were so disoriented, they had no idea how far they blew down the runway.  They said that it was one hell of a ride, but none of them ever ran out behind a heavy taking off again!
