Historically seen the sun (and alt) where the best friends of fighter pilots. HTC has taken this into account and made a great feature so that when u look directly into the sun u cant see a fighter which is in direct lined up with u and the light.
My concern about this is that i think the sun glare has way too little effect.
I mean in RL when u look directly into the sun u cant see nothing (depending on ur sunglasses) in a wide range (and i guess in a much wider range than in AH).
I really would like to see the sun has more impact in gameplay so i would suggest to intensify the glare.

Yeah, I'd like to see more realistic sun glare in AH too.
I loved the sun glare of rowan's Mig Alley, it looks like real one.

If this is added, players can use the following tactics more easily!

A MiG is hiding into the sun:

I've always wondered about the lack of glare.

To a lesser degree, this should aply to the moon.

I've played WB when they had sun glare that was quite realistic. It is a pain in the butt! Seriously, I don't think you guys really want a realistic sun in here. It was the cause of much greif and wailing when it was implemented in WB. What we have now is a much more workable solution.

Actually, I would rather have a realistic sun.
Might scare off some of the lamers. It will make altitude useful, as it is IRL.

In game, at what altitude are most dogfights done? between 0 and 2000. IRL, dogfights took place at high altitude and fighters were designed to go higher. the ME-109 has a higher ceiling than the Spit, but that makes no differance in the game, ATM.

HTC allready modeled sun glare, right before they modeled pilot and gunner eyewear opacity .

As I said in my initial post. But I like to see more extreme sunglare. Take a loo at the pictures from Mitsu - that's cool.

But is it really more realistic, as seems to be touted here?  I have no idea what sun glare is like in the thinner air at higher altitude, and I'd be surprised if most players had a better idea than the folks at HTC.

Most fights are at low altitudes and there the sunglare is IMHO not strong enough.
