talk about your bad days....
« on: September 02, 2002, 10:30:14 PM »
anybody here ever vomit more than 20 times in less than 12 hours?  I was about an hour away from driving myself to the emergency room before it all stopped.  I HATE NAUSIA!!!!!  That's got to be the worst feeling (besides pain) there is.  I'm off the meds until the doc sees me again,  I don't care what they say.  Nothing is worth this feeling.  Still weak from it and still a little nausiated :(

what a way to end a good weekend....

Hang in Udie.

Good luck with it. We're all rooting for you.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

dude, I aint your mom.  but the Dr.'s an expert, you pay him a lot for his advice.  follow it.

unless the nausia is a side effect the Dr. didn't expect,  take your fluff'n meds.

ps.   suffer through it, and get well.  I'm pray'n for ya.

Doctors can still prescribe bad meds, expert or not.

Udie,
Nausia is usually caused by not enough blood staying in your head, causing light headedness and nausia. Find out from your doc if it is some meds you are taking, food poisoning, not eating, drinking(water) enough, etc.
High protein and fatty foods take energy and moisture to digest which could lead to nausia. Are you supposed to be taking the meds on an empty or full stomach?
Good luck to you.
Best regards,
wSNPR

Could it be a coincidental "stomach flu"? I used to get this about every winter break as a child -- thankfully it happens far less frequently as an adult. Can't even keep down water, but it helps to still drink it anyway for hydration and to prevent dry heaves. It lasts about 12 hours with diarrhea in the mix (usually how it starts). I believe it's actually a food prep/handling issue and not the flu per se. If that's the case then you should be fine shortly. If not, then it sounds like you got some pretty bad side effects from those meds.

a typical side effect of the drugs.
I suggest you stick with it and listen to the qua.. er doctor.

seriously.
It usually takes time to get the meds adjusted.
Stick with it bro.

went to another doc this morning and he told me to stay off the meds.  Only got about 3 hours sleep last night :(  Still feel a bit pukey but much better than yesterday.  Something in me smells some BS from the medial profession though.....

I wouldn't say it's the medical profession entirely Udie...

I would say it's them companies that make the medicine.

Medical science cured Polio back in the day...

but for some odd reason, we can't cure a damn thing now-a-days. They can make ya live with whatever you got, but they can't (won't?) cure you of whatever you got. Just offer you more medication so you can live with it.

I wonder....

Not all people react to medication and their side effects the same way. I had a lump in my stomach and they gave me these fediddlein horse pills loaded with aluinium, the side effect to this was kidney failure. Well, 4 years ago i had a kidney removed. I now have one. Talk about a decision, Take the pills to reduce the lump in my stomach and have a good chance for kidney failure, enhanced by the fact i have only 1 kidney.

All this plus i was in Mexico. I stopped the meds while in Mexico for the simple reason, theres no way in hell i want to end up in a Mexican hospital if i have a kidney failure.

So, you need to decide how bad your your situation is, also see if there is an alternitive medication they can give you so the side effects may be different, who knows, your dick might get bigger....

Consult before taking yourself off med, unless you deem it is life threatening. Then take yourself off and see the Doctor again.

Dog out.....

Try taking a half a bottle of nodoze...
Not only do you get to spend a full 24 hours pukeing, you get to stay awake in a semi-concious daze for even longer!
