Damm... it didn't .. Oh well picture this

Roster shot, taken 10 minutes ago...

Bishops.. 135 players. Knights ..141 players Rooks.. 54 players.

Now granted this is maybe 30 minutes before the end. But an hour ago there where on 96 Rooks.

Bring in the 2 country system.

The 2 country system would just lead to 1 side having more....It's not that simple.

Ok then, how about this. ANY country outnumbered by 3 to 1 odds should get at least 1.5X the normal perkies.

This would:

1) Discourage the massive changeover prior to an obvious reset
2) Encourage pilots to JOIN the country with the lower numbers
3) Stop that countries pilots from logging
4) Actually reflect the greater difficulty involved in shooting down planes when you are massively outnumbered.

IMO the landgrab compounds the problem--a country that's losing (usually losing because it has less people) will only suffer more and more population loss as people log off in frustration.

I'd prefer a system where the frontline bases were capturable, with a fair number of rear fields being un-capturable.

I tried to be rook when I was new - my very first kill I was cussed out on voice and 3 other channels text.  I took this as a bad sign :)

J_A_B has a point.  The requirement to pound one side down to one field left may be a significant contributing factor.  It might be better if the first side to be reduced to five or ten fields lost the war.

"It might be better if the first side to be reduced to five or ten fields lost the war."

And with the new 250+ field terrains there's no good argument against such a system :)

It'd have to be certain set fields uncapturable though (like a "home" area for each country), otherwise you could very well end up with 5 fields scattered around the map which wouldn't be any better than just having 1 or 2 fields left.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm a Rook, you do NOT see me whining about numbers.  My biggest whine is the useless tactics employed by some rooks.  10 fighters on one con, kill stealing, and lack of cooperation when in tight situations.

I understand "everyone pay's to play, blah, blah, blah".  But if you don't want to act like a team, join the bishes or knights.  We don't need the needless wishes to date Mandie.   Last week, I squelched 4 Rooks because they were useless being in game, they should have been on a chat board.

I fly with your squadron ALOT.  FTSeeker, Trol, Piper know me VERY WELL.  I have made "a name for myself" as an prettythanghole (probably in the eyes of some rooks), I don't care.  Most Rooks don't see me that way.  I am tired of this same record being played.

This is NOT personally directed at you JR, understand that.

BUT, if ALL of the Rooks used some courtesy and tact when attacking bases we'd take more of them.   20 rooks around a "vulch lit" base, planes up and shoot down a couple of rooks because 15 of them are over a flattened town with ABSOLUTELY nothing in it (except earthworms).   That is what us Rooks need to address.

I love being the underdog, I have nothing to lose and since I can give a rat's bellybutton about rank, makes it even better.

FTJR, I know where you're coming from, but man, it wasn't even two weeks ago that we had the #'s and kicked the bishes butts cause of it.
Numbers help, but what is more important is what is done with those #'s.
Couple nights ago I logged in, saw the rooks down to 5 bases and outnumbered 4 or 5 to 1, said to hell with it and logged back off, thinking the arena would shortly reset.
Logged back in a couple hours later, rooks still way outnumbered, but up to 12 bases and climbing.
The few rooks online at that time got together and came out of their corner fighting as a team, and the base captures started rolling in as a result.
I don't, as a rule, pay that much attention to the #'s anymore.  And I don't feed into one player's statements "when we get equal or similiar #'s we kick ass" cause it just ain't true.
It's more about more about what the guys on each side do as a team than about the numbers for each side.  Teamwork pays off, and like Forrest Gump says, "That's all I got to say about that....."
