Tonight's Snap Shot will be hosted by yours truly and will be "TORPEDO EIGHT".

It's a reenactment of the heroic efforts of the TBM squadron, "Torpedo 8".  They gave their lives in an effort to sink the Imperial Japanese Navy Ship AKAGI.
More information can be found here.

- We roll at about 10PM EST, try not to be late.
- There is NO pre-registration, JUST BE THERE!

The only real "hard fast" rule is: you MUST have fun!!!!:D

The two serviving TBM's returning to carrier .  MDBaker was all shot up and crashed on the Deck :(  
I Believe I was the only TBM to land successfully (and with two kills )   another Great Snap shot event .  Thanks all

This had to be one of the most confusing scenatios that I have hosted to date... I'll explain, but first I'd like to thank everyone that showed up to fly.  A special Thanks to AKNIMITZ & CuttaRTC for volunteering to CO-for-a-day.  We had 90+ pile-its in the SEA for a Wednesday Snap Shot! Truly Amazing!.

Here's the issue: We had TBM's loaded with eggs vice Torpedos as explained in the MOTD (Message of the Day).  There were a few hits, but in the spirit of fair play and following the predirected guidance; ALL TBM (egg) damage to any ship is declared moot and will NOT be considered as part of the overall score.

***I can't stress this enough..., The MOTD tells you, the participant, EXACTLY what the rules are and you are required to follow them.***

I must take a hit for not configuring the IJN AAA guns properly, I didn't realize that I hadn't reenabled flight so that you guys could get into the AA guns and fight back.  I got it worked out, but it wasn't transparent to you the player...:(

The Aftermath:
Torpedo Eight was all but obliterated... I only saw two TBMs RTB, there might have been one or two others...  The IJN CV Akagi was not damaged by any Allied torpedos..  And the points for kills totals were?  ALLIED: 420points   IJN:  590 points
CV Akagi remains undamaged, therefore I'd call this a tactical, if not decisive, Japanese  victory!

Oop's  guess not !!!  Vailent attempt though for as shot up his TBM was .(I saw no rudder and part of his left wing was missing)

Nifty's reputation is true!!!!  :eek:   So I was the only friendly fire accident recorded.  At least Nifty made up for it by becoming an ace in a day for the honor & glory of the emperor. :D WTG Nifty.

Nothing gets in between me and a kill!  Especially not a squaddie!  :D

Hehe, what dfl8rms neglected to mention was he hit me FIRST and sprung a leak in my oil which in the end forced me to leave the Emperor's fine machine in the sea.  So I just gave him a little tap back!  ;)

Looks like Roscaroo got himself a TBM though, so you weren't the only FF incident, dfl8rms!

Shame on you Roscaroo for claiming that kill in your AAR!  :o

I hope you will organize another Midway type of event.  This CV vs CV is just great and can't be beat!
