Medical malpractice or legal malpractice or accounting malpractice?

They're tough to win unless your expert is better than theirs.  Its a lot of "this is right/no, this is right" type of testimony.  For the most part, an attorney's hourly rates are proportional to the quality of experts he has in his address book.

I am, but I do criminal prosecution, so I can't really help you with the malpractice.  Hope you find your answers tho.

ok I admit myself to shoal creek hospital for depression.  The shrink meets me the next day and diagnoses me as bi-polar and prescribes the meds.  I take the meds the way told to do so and leave the hospital a week later.  I keep taking the meds like they said.

2 days after release I start feeling sick.  4 days after release I vomit 27 times and stop taking the meds they gave. That night I have a 3 hour psychotic/scary as toejam physical/mental reaction. The next morning I go to the emergency room.  The doctor was suprised when I told them what they had given me and the amount.  Now here I am a week after release 5 days after taking any of the meds and my hands are still shaking, there is deminished though ability i've missed 2 days of work because of it this week and may actually get laid off.  and The psychotic reactions still happen just not as bad as they were monday night.

Tuesday after returning from the emergency room I call the shrink they "assigned" me.  He's in session,  I tell the secretary that it's an emergency that I'm having a BAD reaction to the drugs and please have him call, then gave her my number. Still waiting for the call 4 days later.  The day after that the therapist they "assigned" me calls to break her appointment with me.  Now I have to take xanax to feel normal.....

The shrink in the hospital never saw me for more than 20-30 min and usually only about 15 min.  Is that enough to diagnose bi-polar?  If in a week/month I still am diddlyed up in the head do I have a case?

[edit]

basicly I went in depressed and came out 60% insane.....

It's pretty common for people to have bad reactions to new meds.  However it is NOT common for the doc to blow off the patient when he has a bad reaction.  The instant you notified him of your reaction, he should have been working his bellybutton off to get you back to normal and find an alternate course of treatment.

Sounds like he may have given you way too much of something.  Write down the medication and the dosage and instructions and run it by some other doctors.  If it is out of whack they will let you know.

No you don't.

And don't wait 4 days for a call back.

CALL THEM AGAIN UNTIL YOU GET AHOLD OF THE PERSON YOU CALLED!

I know I'm yelling there, but come on Udie...you've spent more time on this board then trying to get ahold of the Doc....take that same initiative and get in touch with him.

I know you have that initiative within you.
