Nose Art
« on: September 07, 2002, 06:55:54 PM »
Hiya:

I am trying to add nose art to my squad page place. I put the pic of the nose art in my HTC squad folder, and then logged on line. then clicked upload nose art, but when i try to launch my plane, I get booted back to my desk top. Now I know that the nose art has to be approved by the HTC staff before it will load. so how do I go about that. Do I send it to somebody or what. as it is right now, I have removed the nose art from the HTC squad page.

Please let me know what it is I must do to get this to work.

thank you

wolf .. there is another post about this .... but here goes.

make sure the *.bmp file is 64x64 pixels and only 256 colors. higher color settings will cause the crash. also the file must be named for the squad CO (ie mine is JB42 .. he's my CO and he had to upload it)

let me know if that helps

btw the other thread is HERE
I don't know what to put here yet.

How do I get a 128 x 128 x 256 version to upload? (Like the one in the squads folder).

sc-mutt.. u have to make it...

try looking at that other thread i posted a link to.

fo mine i started at like 600x600 full color and used a photo editing program to shrink it to 128x128. then in mspaint click "save as" and for type of file use 256 color.
I don't know what to put here yet.

Sorry JB, I wasn't very clear.
I (We), already have a 64x64 Noseart in the folder. What I wanted to know was how to upload a 128x128 version instead.

(Thanks for the effort anyway tho, It pointed me to a Photoshop alternative, and that's good cuz I'm tired of the $200 upgrades every 6 months!)  [and Thanks to the gent who posted the link to "gimp", S!]
