Sorry, Rip, the "official" number is 3,048- not 3400. My bad, I misunderstood the other day when I was out there.

What gets to me are the photos and videos of the victims before 9-11. The father posing with his 8 yr old daughter before her ballerina debut, the friends celebrating a birthday with a victim just days before the attack, people on their wedding days, graduation days and birth days- I have a tough time dealing with that.

bs tough guy

It HAS changed your life

look at the security at the A/P

watch ur own mind as you scan the dark skin ppl walking the A/P or boarding your plane

try to slip some weed past security - say in your shoe/sock or carry on... IF you did b4, wouldn't think of now - would you..

bs tough guy

and 9/11 ain't about you. its about the 1000's of families, friends whose lives were torn apart that morning - NEVER to be the same again

gotta love some of these egos on this board that think the world revolves around their anus

Dude calm down OK?
Not everyone thinks like you.

Oh and by the way, not once in the times Ive flown after the attack have I been paranoid. In fact I dont remember even thinking about it.

It was a tragedy but thousands of people die everyday in many countries and their deaths are no less tragic than what happened in 9/11.

not as ironic as this brain fart:

Sorry, I care more about 2000+ Americans being murdered in their place of business than 2000+ (name your nationality here) others who died of natural/un-natural causes that same day around the globe. And yes I, do find it more "tragic" than the later.

Well, I consider that a pretty sad thing to say and I am glad the rest of the country thinks far different than you do.

As for me, everyone in the world is alike, Americans are not worth more than everyone else.

Person by Person, I dont think an American dying in his office is more tragic than an African or Asian getting shot or blown in the street.

Sad or not I gotta side with Eagler on this one. (frogs will fall from the sky soon I'm sure) Losing a member of your family is more importanat to you than losing a stranger. Losing 2000 Americans in one heinous act is more important to me than losing 2000 Somalis or Iraqis. Just the facts Animal. I'm surprised you don't see the truth in that.

So you attend every funeral in PR? Or just your families?

That is completly off the point, just because I wont attend every funeral doesnt mean I'm gonna pretend that my family members are worth more than the rest of the world.

They are more important to me on a personal level because I know them personally and love them, but dont compare family with country. Thats the whole problem with this world, people dont seem to realize that people in other countries are not worth less than those in yours.

Maybe you have never been to a third world country and met diferent people so that you can compare those to the rest of America and then think "Yeah, I still believe Americans are worth more."

Some of the best people I have met was in Haiti, Dominican Republic, the poor parts of Perú, Bolivia. I'm not going into detail on how I experienced acts of kindness that never compared to anything I got in North America.

Maybe because I have had the oportunity to see a lot of the world that is not America I have learned to appreciate that the deaths of people in other countries are no less tragic than the death of an American.

For the record, I am not trying to dehumanize or diminish the sorrow of all the people related to those who died in the 9/11 attack, thankfully I didnt know any of them. It was a sad event, it changed my view on a few things that are going on in the world but it didnt change my lifestyle.

To me, the violent unjust death of a North American, a Puerto Rican, a Mexican, a Somali, what have you, are equally sad because none of them is more important than the other from my point of view, do you honestly see this as wrong, or unpatriotic?

Sadly that is exactly the attitude that has made many people around the world dislike us. You know, the "We are Americans and we care for ourselves, the rest of the world isnt nearly as important to me as the rest of America because they are outside" well let me tell you something, there will always be wars and hate unless we try to do an effort to think globally.

First rule of Buddhism: SUFFERING IS UNIVERSAL.

On 9.11.02 I will wake up, look at my watch, realize that its already been a year, then go to work and not think about it for the rest of the day unless something brings it up.

Its already behind me.

However, I will always remember exactly what I was doing when the attack happened because it was a turning point in the history of America.
