A terrible aniversary approaches
« on: September 07, 2002, 11:55:35 PM »
September 11th is fast approaching. It is fitting that we remember why that date is infamous and remember that there are many faces that are forever gone due to the cowardly acts of terror that happened that day.

This site: http://www.politicsandprotest.org is the best thing I can find that symbolizes that day. There are photos of the casualties and heroes of that day. I visit it on occasion and remind myself that there are many things still to be accomplished yet in this struggle that was brought upon us. This isn't over yet and we need to stay focused on taking care of business.

Remember those who we lost and who are injured by this cowardly act.

This takes a while to load, please be patient.

If you feel the need to hijack a thread, do so somewhere else.

DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

I've been getting spam that advertises '9/11' watches and other jewelry. extremely gaudy and in the worst of taste. I connect to their websites and send a flaming email telling them what vultures they are.

Why won't people admit that they love this toejam?

As terrible as it all is, I don't think any of the television news stations have gotten ratings like they did in years.  People love death and destruction, they say "Oh thats terrible!" then slow down to get a closer look at the carnage.

Just wait untill "Bin laden attacks" the made for tv movie hits the airwaves!

Anyways, great site.  Hosted by penthouse!

Mav asked "no hijacking" so i won't. I've spent several afternoons recently helping people at Antelope Christian Center put up crosses- 3400 of them. It's amazing, but anyone was welcome (we've finished that part now) to help out, and people would drive in, put up a dozen crosses and then leave. Total strangers, teary eyed, sharing unspoken sorrow for our victims.

We'll start putting the name tags on today- 3400 nametags on 3400 crosses. Some of us putting the nametags on the crosses will be conservative, some will be liberal,  but we'll all be grieving for the victims and their families.

Thanks Maverick for the link. I'd seen it before, but it's still moving.

Screw that, I'm not gonna make some terrorists change the way I live.

This may seem callous and un-american, but on 9/11 I'm gonna live my day like any other day.

Innominate, the networks could be showing you a HELL of a lot more carnage than they have been.  If they were really into carnage, we'd be seeing footage of the 200 or so people that jumped or fell from the towers before the collapse...but that's been all but censored since 9/11.

BTW, that Flash movie at politicsandprotest.org is...it's just undescribable.  Gut-wrenching.

It's in memory of the innocent victims lost that morning. Nobody is telling you to change YOUR day, just take a second and remember those in NY, DC and the three AA flights, that are no longer here to enjoy THEIR day

MT, they ran a story on the front page of today's Sacramento Bee. I tried to attatch it but I couldn't make it work- it kept giving me an error message saying I was too stupid to figure it out, then it went ha-ha-ha.

Do a Google for SacBee.Com and it's right there on the front page.

Are you counting the passengers of the 4 planes plus those in the Pentagon?
Here we put salt on Margaritas, not sidewalks.
